how i made my Rey Skywalker cosplay

I then covered them with fabric scraps and weathered them heavily to blend seamlessly with the rest of the costume. Comfort is key, especially if you're going to be walking around a convention or doing a photoshoot on a beach like I did! Of course, no Rey cosplay is complete without her weapon. I managed to get my hands on a fantastic blue lightsaber prop. If you're looking to make your own, there are tons of tutorials online for creating convincing lightsaber hilts and blades from PVC pipes and electronics. Even a simple, well-painted prop can make a huge difference in bringing your character to life. My biggest tip for anyone making a Rey cosplay is this: embrace the weathering! Rey lives in a harsh environment, so her clothes shouldn't look brand new. Use sandpaper, dirt, watered-down paint, and even carefully placed tears to give your costume that authentic, lived-in feel. For my photoshoot, I headed to a local beach – the sandy backdrop really helped evoke Rey's desert home.
