The tense situation in the Middle East escalated after CENTCOM revealed that U.S. forces had destroyed a total of 17 Iranian ships in the latest military operation.

According to a Xinhua News Agency report, on March 3, 2026, CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper stated through a video clip on Platform X that one of the targets attacked was the submarine most used by Iran, which was damaged to a breach in the hull.

According to Cooper, the operation marked the "sinking of the entire Iranian navy," reiterating that U.S. forces had hit nearly 2,000 targets, used more than 2,000 weapons, resulting in a significant weakening of Iran's air defense systems, including the destruction of hundreds of missiles, launch pads and drones.

The CENTCOM commander confirmed that the operation will continue 24 hours a day, covering all combat dimensions, from undersea, land, airspace, space to cyberspace.

Meanwhile, CENTCOM stated that, since the start of the offensive by the U.S. and Israel, the Iranian side has responded by firing more than 500 missiles and sending over 2,000 attack drones, mirroring a wide-ranging and protracted-prone confrontation.

Although the damage figures claimed by each side still await confirmation from independent sources, recent circumstances indicate that the conflict is on the verge of a full-scale military confrontation that could affect regional stability and global security in the next phase.
