Bridging Cultures in the Heart of Shanghai 🌏🖤

Touching down in Shanghai has been an incredible experience! ✈️ Standing here in the Bund, I’m reminded of how small the world truly is—and how important it is for us to take up space in it.

I’m Dennis Obel, and my mission with Afrofeast is to build a bridge between Africa, the Diaspora, and Asia. 🌉 There is so much shared culture here—the love for food, community, and hospitality.

My thoughts on doing business here:

The Scale: The energy in Shanghai is unmatched. ⚡

The Connection: Seeing the potential for Afro-Asian collaboration is inspiring.

The Representation: It is vital for our Diaspora to be visible in these global economic hubs.

Have you ever traveled to Asia? Let’s talk about connecting our roots to the world! 👇

The city’s financial district buzzes with energy and ambition, creating an inspiring environment for Afro-Asian collaboration. Beyond commerce, what truly stands out is how much cultural common ground exists—from the vibrant food scenes to the deep value placed on community and hospitality. This experience has shown me the importance of representation within global economic hubs. For members of the African Diaspora, visibility in such spaces helps foster connections and open doors previously unseen. I’ve met so many like-minded individuals who are keen to build bridges between continents by sharing ideas, culture, and opportunities. Traveling to Asia has reinforced my belief that the world feels much smaller and more connected than ever. The journey is about more than business; it’s a cultural exchange that enriches all involved. Being in Shanghai has confirmed the powerful potential when Africa and Asia come together, and I’m excited to continue growing these meaningful ties through Afrofeast.
