Earn free miles on ANYTHING (even bills & taxes)

Edit: Chocolate has reduced their earn rate to 1mpd on 1st $1k spend each month and 0.4mpd thereafter. Bill payment is also capped at 100 miles/month now.

With just 2 simple steps:

1. Sign up for a chocolate finance account and activate your debit card

2. Link your debit card to the HeyMax app (HeyMax is basically Shopback but you earn miles instead of cashback.)

Starting 11th Feb 25, this card awards 2mpd on virtually ALL spend. However, what makes it most interesting is that Chocolate Finance will award miles on categories of spend that most banks normally exclude!

This means things like paying for insurance premiums, taxes and even bills via AXS will now earn you rewards. While you could use this card on dining or shopping, it is these transactions that truly make the card stand out ✨

For everyday spend, I would suggest a different set of cards which I highlighted in this post which provide better earn rates.

✅ Pros:

•Debit card

Suitable for students to jump into the miles game. Minimum age to sign up is 18 and no minimum income required. This is the only group of people where it would make sense for the card to be used on daily transactions.

• Free miles transfers

A rarity in today’s landscape with most banks charging $20+ to transfer miles. The only other bank that does it is HSBC.

• Valuable mileage program

In #MyPOV , the quality of this mileage program is only second to Citi. HeyMax has 28 transfer partners (both airlines & hotels), which would leave you spoilt for choice! Although it has the most transfer partners, it ranks second because Citi miles are easier to earn imo.

❌ Cons:

• $1k monthly cap

All spend from the $1,001 earns 0.4mpd. Not ideal but still 0.4mpd more than what most banks would give you on stuff like bill payments

• No credit

Being a debit card, you will have to ensure you have have money inside before the card can be used. This means u’re making payment upfront unlike a credit card where you only have to pay at the end of the month.

All in all, I’m really excited to use this card for expenditure that I am unable to earn miles on normally. It’ll definitely help minimize the pain of this upcoming tax szn 🤣

... Read moreIf you're new to the miles game or looking for a simple way to maximize your rewards, the Chocolate Finance debit card is worth considering. Since this card is a debit card, it’s especially helpful for students or anyone who prefers not to use credit but still wants to earn miles. One of the standout features is how it rewards spending categories that traditional cards often exclude, such as insurance payments, taxes, and bills through AXS. This means even your necessary expenses can help you accumulate miles, which I found really beneficial during tax season. Though there is a $1,000 monthly cap on the 2 miles per dollar rate—with any spend beyond that earning 0.4 miles per dollar—it's still a competitive rate when compared to what many banks offer on bill payments. Just remember to keep your account funded, as this card doesn't offer credit. On top of that, transferring miles from HeyMax to airline and hotel loyalty programs is free, which is rare these days. With 28 transfer partners including Air Canada Aeroplan, British Airways Executive Club, and more, you get a wide range of options to redeem your points. In summary, if you want to reduce the sting of unavoidable expenses while building up your travel rewards, the Chocolate Finance debit card paired with HeyMax is a smart combo. For other everyday spend options, I recommend checking cards with higher earn rates but for bills and taxes this is a game-changer.
