I just left a job I couldn’t stand ✨🥰
Yesterday was my last day at one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had . This isn’t a post to bash them or complain, but it’s more so to let people know things get better.
I’ve never been shy to quit jobs but this job market has been absolutely terrible. I’ve always worked mainly in the restaurant industry and even finding a serving or bartending job has been hard. It took me about 5 months to find the job I’m currently training at and I’m keeping it forever after what i just went through 😩😂
Obviously if your mental health is deteriorating and you’ll be okay not working for a few months, leaving a toxic work environment is best. But right now you really have to ask yourself: if you quit somewhere and have no back up plan, will quitting help or just make it worse.
Leaving a job can be a daunting decision, especially in a tough job market. It's important to weigh your mental health against job stability. Research shows that toxic work environments can lead to increased stress and dissatisfaction, making it crucial to prioritize your wellbeing. Before quitting, assess your financial situation and job prospects. Consider networking within your industry and exploring opportunities that align with your values. Utilizing platforms like LinkedIn can connect you to potential employers and new opportunities in your field. Embracing a proactive approach to your employment journey can help you transition smoothly to a healthier work environment, where you can thrive personally and professionally. Remember, many individuals face similar challenges in their careers. Sharing experiences through forums or support groups can provide comfort and insights that help you navigate the process. Joining communities focused on career development can empower you with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about your next steps. Ultimately, prioritizing your mental health and wellbeing is vital—don't hesitate to seek support if you find yourself struggling in a workplace that's impacting your life negatively.
