I visited China’s XIAOHONGSHU📕VIRAL spots…

... Read moreDuring my visits to these viral Xiaohongshu spots across Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou, I found that many of the photos truly do justice to the real experience, especially at places like Qingshanhu Scenic Spot where the natural beauty was breathtaking beyond expectations. It’s refreshing because social media edits often raise skepticism, but this spot was exactly as stunning in person. In Shanghai, I attended a performance at Candor, a burlesque venue well-known on Xiaohongshu. While the decor was certainly impressive and visually captivating, the musical itself was solid but not extraordinary compared to European productions I’ve seen. Still, it’s worth checking out for those who appreciate artistic nightlife with a stylish vibe. For luxury shopping lovers, the LOUIS VUITTON淮海旗舰店 is an unforgettable landmark. Its size and light displays are a spectacle, especially at night, making it perfect for photography. Visiting this flagship store gave me an exquisite glimpse into China’s booming luxury market and the fashion-forward crowd. However, when it comes to dining, my experience at the Ping Chang Yuan Noodle Restaurant was mixed. The restaurant is beautifully designed and highly photogenic, but while the dishes were tasty, the value didn’t quite match the price. I would recommend ordering just one signature dish mainly for the photo opportunity and ambiance. Nightlife at Shanghai’s HUSH INS was truly a highlight. With five floors of different music genres, the atmosphere was vibrant and energetic. The hip-hop and rap scenes combined with great decor and lively crowds made it a top pick for club-goers looking for a unique experience. If you’re a fan of cozy cafes, the MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA café didn’t disappoint. The décor was inspiring, and the food and drinks were surprisingly well-crafted—not gimmicky at all. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxing break and Instagram-worthy photos. On the flip side, Eka café felt a bit overcrowded and the surrounding retail scene didn’t add much to the experience. I’d reserve this for those already nearby or looking for contemporary architecture rather than a must-visit. Lastly, the Shanghai 兔月屋 Bunny Cafe was adorable and very affordable, offering unlimited time with fluffy bunnies and small critters. While the cuteness was overload, I did notice some concerns about animal welfare, so visitors should remain mindful and respectful of the animals’ wellbeing. Overall, these Xiaohongshu viral spots offer a diverse range of authentic experiences, from nature and luxury shopping to nightlife and quirky cafés. For travelers from Singapore and beyond, it’s helpful to balance hype with personal preferences and manage expectations to fully enjoy these trending destinations.
