Living in Guangxi, China for over a year has truly been an eye-opening experience for me. One of the highlights has been the surprisingly affordable cost of many services that make daily life enjoyable—from getting my nails done with creative hard gel designs for under 40 SGD to indulging in relaxing head spa sessions for less than 30 SGD. These reasonable prices allow me to care for myself without worrying about the budget, which is a refreshing change from many other cities. Beyond affordability, the local government policies here are very welcoming to foreigners, creating opportunities that encourage us to stay and build a life. This supportive environment has made it easier to settle in and feel like I belong. What I value the most, however, are the new friendships I've formed. Meeting people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives has expanded my understanding and always provided something new to learn. These social connections have helped me feel grounded and enriched my experience living abroad. Additionally, I genuinely believe Guangxi is a city ready for growth and development, offering promising prospects for the future. Its proximity to other major hubs makes it ideal for anyone looking to experience authentic Chinese culture while still being connected. If you’re considering renting a house somewhere new or just curious about living in China, Guangxi might just surprise you with its blend of affordability, friendly policies, and vibrant community life.
