Hey fellow PMC! You saw my quick post about that easy 4-piece I snagged? Well, a big part of surviving and thriving in Tarkov, especially as a USEC, comes down to having a reliable loadout. I've spent countless hours in EFT, experimenting with different gear, and I wanted to share my current go-to USEC setup that helps me consistently get those multi-kills and extract with valuable loot. This loadout is designed for a balanced playstyle—aggressive enough to push but also capable of holding its own in sustained firefights. It's not ultra-budget, but it’s definitely not high-tier meta that’ll break your bank after one death. My Primary Weapon: The M4A1 For my main, I often gravitate towards the M4A1. Why? The recoil is manageable, and with the right mods, it becomes an absolute laser. Optic: I usually slap on an EOTech EXPS3-0. It's clean, fast, and good for both close quarters and medium-range engagements. Foregrip: The RK-2 foregrip is my personal favorite for recoil reduction, even with the slight ergonomics penalty. Muzzle Device: A SureFire SOCOM556-RC2 suppressor is a must. Staying stealthy is key in Tarkov, and it helps keep my position hidden. Stock: The Magpul CTR stock with an Enhanced Rubber Butt-Pad helps further reduce recoil. Magazine: I primarily run with 60-round STANAG magazines. More bullets, more opportunities for those 'easy 4-pieces'! Ammo: This is crucial! I always load up with 5.56x45mm M995 rounds. They might be pricey, but their armor penetration is unmatched, making quick work of even heavily armored opponents. Always carry a few stacks in your secure container. Armor & Helmet: Balanced Protection For protection, I usually go with a Slick Plate Carrier (Class 6) if my budget allows, or a Gen4 HMK (Full Protection) (Class 5) for a more cost-effective option. Both offer great protection against most threats. For my head, the ULACH ACH Helmet is a solid choice. It protects against high-tier rounds and offers decent ricochet chance without completely destroying your hearing. Tactical Rig & Backpack: Loot Efficiency I often use the TV-110 Plate Carrier as my rig. It has great slot efficiency for its size and allows quick access to mags and meds. For a backpack, the Pilgrim or a Beta 2 gives me enough space to haul out all the good stuff I find, especially after successfully wiping a squad. Medical Supplies: Never Skimp! My basic medical setup usually includes: Salewa: For quick healing of multiple body parts. Painkillers (preferably Analgin or Ibuprofen): To keep moving even when fractured or blacked out. Splint (Aluminum or Army): Essential for broken limbs. AFAK or IFAK: For bleeds and overall health restoration. Grenades: Utility and Offense I always bring at least one or two VOG-25 grenades for flushing out campers or clearing rooms. A Zarya stun grenade can also be incredibly useful for pushing unsuspecting enemies. Playstyle Tips with this Loadout: Stay Mobile: While the M4A1 is powerful, don't stand still. Use cover, peek, shoot, and reposition. Prioritize Headshots: Even with M995, a headshot is always the fastest way to drop an enemy. Listen: Audio cues are your best friend in EFT. This helmet setup still allows for good hearing. Manage Recoil: Practice controlling the M4A1's recoil in the hideout shooting range. Short bursts are usually more effective than full-auto sprays at range. This setup has served me well in countless raids across various maps in Tarkov. It's a great foundation to build on, and you can always adjust it based on your playstyle and current stash.
