💛 Abundance isn’t just about having enough—it’s about being trusted with overflow. God fills you so you can pour into others, and stewardship is the key that keeps the river flowing. 🌊✨
When you release instead of cling, you make room for God to keep replenishing. The more you steward well, the more He trusts you with. 💛
💭 Reflection: Where in your life has God already given you more than enough, and how can you steward it well today?
... Read moreWhen I first heard the term 'overflow,' my mind immediately went to financial abundance. But through my own journey, I’ve realized God's abundance is so much broader, and living in overflow is truly a live action way of life, not just a concept. It's about being so filled that you naturally become a vessel for others, allowing a continual flow of blessings to pass through you.
I’ve learned that stewardship isn't just about managing what you have, but discerning when to save, when to sow, and when to share. It's about actively recognizing the areas in my life where I have more than enough and intentionally using those gifts to bless those around me.
Let me share some practical ways I've started putting this 'overflow' into live action:
1. Overflow of Time: We all feel busy, but I've started identifying pockets of extra time. Instead of mindlessly scrolling, I might choose to call a friend who’s been on my mind, offer to run an errand for an elderly neighbor, or volunteer an hour at a local charity. It’s amazing how a small offering of time can create a huge impact and foster a cycle of increase in connection and goodwill.
2. Overflow of Wisdom & Knowledge: We all have unique experiences and skills. If I've learned something new, whether it's a cooking tip, a budgeting strategy, or a life lesson, I look for opportunities to share it. Mentoring someone, offering advice when asked, or even just sharing a helpful article can be a way of pouring out wisdom.
3. Overflow of Finances: Beyond regular giving, I try to be open to spontaneous acts of kindness. This isn't about being reckless, but about being attentive to needs. Maybe it's anonymously paying for someone's coffee, contributing to a friend’s fundraiser, or supporting a cause close to my heart. It’s about letting my resources flow into places where they can make a real difference, trusting that the river will keep flowing fresh.
4. Overflow of Encouragement: This is one of my favorites! A kind word, a genuine compliment, or a listening ear costs nothing but can mean everything. I make an effort to affirm people, celebrate their successes, and offer support during their challenges. Our words have immense power to uplift and inspire.
5. Overflow of Creativity: If you have a creative gift – whether it’s writing, painting, baking, or even organizing – how can you use it to bless others? I love making handmade cards or little gifts for friends, or using my organizational skills to help someone declutter. It's a joyful way to share a piece of myself.
It's a beautiful paradox: the more you release and pour out, the more room you make for God to replenish. This isn't about depleting yourself; it's about becoming a channel. Just like the image reminded me, "Abundance isn't stagnant-it's a river. Stewardship keeps the waters flowing fresh." When I cling too tightly, the flow gets dammed up. But when I actively steward what I’m given, I truly experience the joy of God's abundance – not just for me, but so I can be a blessing to others. It’s a journey of trust, knowing that as I give, I position myself for continued blessing and the cycles of increase continue.
