December 13th: The Shift ✨
There is a difference between knowing truth and becoming it.
Innerstanding is when the Word moves from information to transformation—
from belief to embodiment.
This is the season God is teaching you how to walk what you’ve learned. ✨
In our spiritual journey, a profound shift often occurs when what we have intellectually understood about faith and divine teachings transitions into what is called "innerstanding." This term transcends basic knowledge; it represents the transformation where spiritual truths are no longer just ideas but become part of who we are and how we live daily. Innerstanding deepens our relationship with God by moving beyond surface-level learning to experiential wisdom. This transformation impacts not only our thoughts but also our behavior, emotions, and responses, helping us to recognize and operate in alignment with the Fruit of the Spirit even through life's difficulties. For example, while understanding that God loves us can be a comforting belief, innerstanding allows us to deeply experience His love on a personal level that shapes our character. Instead of merely reciting scripture, we begin to live its truths in practical ways. Similarly, wisdom shifts from abstract concepts to guiding principles that influence our decisions and interactions. This change happens when "the eyes of our heart," as referred to in Ephesians 1:18, are enlightened by the Spirit, opening us to discernment and clarity. It allows the Word of God to settle deeply within us, nurturing peace and purpose that steady our steps and define our destiny. It encourages us to consciously choose one spiritual truth we know but have not fully embodied, practicing it intentionally to foster spiritual maturity. Walking what we learn also involves quiet awareness and maturity—it softens the heart and refines responses, enabling us to move from reaction rooted in past wounds to Spirit-led discernment. As we cultivate innerstanding, our faith becomes more resilient and vibrant, inspiring a consistent life that demonstrates the hope and calling we have in God. This season invites reflection on where we currently stand between knowing and truly becoming what God teaches. It challenges us to embrace this shift with intentionality and alignment, trusting divine wisdom to expand our understanding into deep innerstanding that shapes our entire being and walk with God.
