1 month engaged 💍

Wow, it feels like just yesterday I was saying 'YES!' and now I'm already 1 month engaged! This first month has been a whirlwind of excitement and a surprisingly productive start to our wedding planning journey. Like many 2025 brides, I was eager to dive in, but also wanted to savor every moment. One of the biggest wins was setting up our wedding website and registry using Zola. I highly recommend it! It made sharing our story, details about our big day (like our date of August 16, 2025), and managing RSVPs incredibly easy. Plus, having an integrated registry streamlines everything for guests. It’s been so fun personalizing it and seeing it come to life, just like the lovely couple (my partner and I!) in the website screenshot. Another huge milestone was setting up my first bridal appointment. There's nothing quite like the anticipation of trying on wedding dresses! I booked a 60-minute bridal appointment at a boutique near Alderwood Parkway Plaza in Lynnwood – just enough time to get a feel for different styles. My tip for anyone going for their first appointment for a dress? Go in with an open mind, but also a rough idea of what you like. Bring a trusted friend or family member, wear comfortable undergarments, and be ready to have some fun! It’s all part of the magic. And for the more practical side, we successfully signed the contract for our venue! This felt like a massive step, really cementing our plans. My advice here is to read everything carefully. Ask all the questions you have about inclusions, exclusions, payment schedules, and cancellation policies. Booking early, especially if you have a specific date or popular location in mind, can save a lot of stress down the line. Beyond these big three, my first month also involved a lot of dreaming and preliminary chats. We spent time simply enjoying the fact that we're engaged – showing off my beautiful engagement ring (with matching pastel-colored nails!) and letting the news sink in. We also started having those essential conversations about our wedding vision, what kind of vibe we want, and a very preliminary budget discussion.
