✨Would You Marry Them Without Therapy?✨

For me, the answer is no. 🚫

One thing I’m most proud of my husband for is his continuous effort to be his best self. 🥹 Therapy has played a huge role in that, and I’ve seen firsthand the impact it can have on your life.

On the flip side, I’ve also been the one who needed to do the inner work first. ✨ Before marriage and eventually kids, I had to pause and focus on healing because I know my future family deserves the healthiest, most grounded version of me.

Before bringing kids into the world, I believe we should be at our highest form of emotional regulation, patience, and stability.

So if someone isn’t willing to even consider therapy or growth, I personally couldn’t move forward with marriage and definitely not with children. 💔

🌱 My take: Healing and growth should come before marriage and family not after.

👉 Would you marry someone who refuses therapy but still wants kids?

... Read moreTherapy plays a crucial role in building healthy, long-lasting relationships and preparing for the responsibilities of marriage and parenting. Emotional regulation, patience, and stability are vital traits necessary to nurture a supportive family environment. When partners commit to therapy or personal growth, they demonstrate a willingness to heal past wounds, build self-awareness, and improve communication—all essential for overcoming future challenges together. Refusing therapy, especially when planning to have children, may hinder emotional readiness needed to handle the stresses that parenting inevitably brings. Emotional growth before marriage ensures that both partners bring their best selves into the relationship, creating a strong foundation for raising emotionally healthy children. Studies show that parents with higher emotional intelligence can better model resilience and stability for their kids, positively influencing their development. Inner work—including vulnerability, healing, and embracing growth—empowers individuals to manage conflicts constructively, reduce toxic patterns, and foster empathy. These qualities enhance trust and intimacy in marriage, promoting a deeper and more fulfilling connection. This mindset also respects the importance of mental health, breaking the stigma around therapy by viewing it as a proactive tool for wellbeing rather than a sign of weakness. Choosing a partner open to therapy encourages mutual growth, shared values, and readiness to co-create a nurturing family life. Ultimately, deciding to marry someone who refuses therapy while wanting children raises concerns about future family dynamics. Prioritizing healing and growth before marriage and kids sets a healthier precedent, benefiting not only the couple but their future children as well.
