Waking up earlier seemed like something I HAD to do. I’d see all these “5AM routine” videos and think that’s what productivity had to look like.
But waking up earlier doesn’t mean that early. It just means earlier for you.
To me it’s a state of mind.
You don’t need to be a “morning person” you just need things that make mornings feel calmer and in my case slower.
Having a bedtime routine makes all the difference.
And when I wake up, I take a few minutes to not be on my phone.
I open the blinds, brush my teeth, shower, and always get ready for the day even if I’m not going anywhere.
You can make your mornings slow and still productive. Waking up earlier doesn’t have to mean 5AM. It can be 8AM, 9AM — whatever feels a little earlier for you.

One effective approach is to establish a consistent bedtime routine that prepares your body and mind for restful sleep, making it easier to wake up feeling refreshed. Avoid rushing out of bed or immediately reaching for your phone — instead, take a few quiet moments to wake up slowly and set a peaceful tone for the day.
Opening your blinds soon after waking allows natural light to gently nudge your body into alertness, stimulating your circadian rhythm. Coupling this with simple self-care like brushing your teeth and showering right away helps establish a sense of routine and readiness, even if you’re staying home all day. Preparing yourself—getting dressed or having a cup of tea or coffee—creates a mental signal that the day is starting.
For a touch of warmth and relaxation, some like to turn on a comforting movie or the fireplace as they ease into the morning. Such small rituals can transform your early hours into a calm, enjoyable part of your day, underscoring that waking earlier isn’t about a rigid 5 AM standard but about finding what feels slightly earlier and healthier for your personal rhythm.
These manageable habits help reduce the stress often associated with waking early while boosting your productivity and mood. Everyone’s perfect “earlier” wake-up time looks different, so focus on incremental changes and making your mornings something to look forward to rather than dread.
For me I like when I wake a few minutes before having to do anything. so I can just sit and chill in the quiet. then I get up and go to the bathroom, brush teeth and go and grab my energy drink or coffee and start my routine.
