Is this normal at my age ??
I turn 25 in two months and I don’t have any “best friends.” Like yes, I have friends, but none that I’m super close with or hang out with regularly.
my bestfriends rn are my husband, my sisters, my nieces & nephews😂😂😂 I love it. There seems like there’s a lot of people my age who have solid friends though.
Is it normal to not have a best friend at 25?
Do you feel like adult friendships are harder to maintain or is it just me?
Reaching the age of 25 and not having a 'best friend' is more common than many realize. Adult friendships often become harder to maintain due to increased responsibilities like work, family commitments, and personal growth. Unlike childhood and teenage years when friendships form easily through school or social activities, adult connections require more intentional effort. It's important to recognize that the concept of a 'best friend' can vary widely among individuals. For some, close-knit bonds with family members such as a spouse, siblings, nieces, or nephews can provide the deep emotional support that best friends typically offer. These relationships often become primary sources of comfort and companionship. Additionally, many people in their mid-twenties find that their social circles naturally shift. The friends they once felt closest to may move away, focus on their own lives, or drift apart. This doesn't mean that friendships are lost forever; rather, it can be an opportunity to redefine what friendship means and build new, authentic connections based on shared values and interests. Practical ways to nurture adult friendships include making time for regular catch-ups, joining community groups or hobby clubs, and being open about your feelings and experiences. It’s normal to feel that maintaining friendships demands more effort as an adult, but doing so can lead to rewarding and lasting relationships. In essence, not having a ‘best friend’ at 25 is normal for many. Embracing the different forms of companionship — whether it's with family or a wider circle of friends — can enrich your social life and emotional well-being. Remember, quality often matters more than quantity when it comes to friendships.

I feel you. I’m 22 and I have one “low maintenance” friendship and then a bunch of acquaintances. At least you have your husband to talk to right? But I get it, it’s probably not the same as a girl friend.
