How would you feel about this ?

Girlies would YOU be okay with your man making a new girl friend while on a trip? Because for me absolutely NOT.

Me and my husband have been together way too long for him to be forming new opposite-gender friendships, especially in situations where I’m not there. And it’s not about insecurity It’s about boundaries and respect.

There is nothing another girl can offer him friendship-wise right now that he can’t get from his existing friendships, his siblings, or me. I’m not telling him he can’t talk to women, but a whole new “vacation bestie” is actually crazy.

how would you feel if your partner made a new friend on vacation ? 👀

... Read moreBuilding on the conversation about whether your man can make new female friends on a trip, let's dive deeper into what 'marriage boundaries with friends' truly means and how to navigate these often tricky waters. It's a topic many of us grapple with, especially when partners are social and meet new people, like when traveling. For me, and I think for many in a committed marriage, setting clear 'husband female friend boundaries' isn't about being controlling or insecure. It's fundamentally about protecting the unique intimacy and emotional space you share with your partner. When our partners are making new opposite-gender friends while traveling, away from our shared environment, it can feel different than meeting someone new in everyday life. The novelty of a vacation mixed with new connections can sometimes blur lines that are usually very clear at home. So, what do these boundaries look like in practice? They can vary wildly from couple to couple, but often revolve around transparency and emotional intimacy. For some, it might mean no one-on-one dinners or private conversations that delve into personal problems meant for a spouse. For others, it’s about making sure the new friendship remains casual and doesn't take priority over the established relationship, especially when it comes to communication during the trip. The images showing a couple discussing boundaries about 'partners making new opposite-gender friends while traveling' really hit home on this point. Communication is absolutely key here. It’s not about issuing ultimatums, but about having an open, honest conversation about what makes each partner feel respected and secure. Using 'I feel' statements rather than 'you always' is crucial. For instance, 'I feel a bit uncomfortable when you spend a lot of one-on-one time with new female friends on trips because it makes me worry about our emotional connection' is much more effective than 'You shouldn't make new female friends on vacation!' This approach fosters understanding and mutual respect for each other's 'relationship boundaries.' Recognizing the difference between a healthy, platonic friendship and a potential 'red flag' is also vital. A genuine friend respects your relationship, doesn't seek to create secrecy, and wouldn't expect your partner to hide aspects of their friendship from you. A 'vacation bestie' that suddenly requires hushed phone calls or secret meet-ups is often a sign that a boundary has been crossed, or is about to be. The texts in the OCR about a woman's strong feelings regarding her husband making new female friends on vacation perfectly encapsulate this sentiment – it's about protecting the sanctity of the primary relationship. Ultimately, defining 'marriage boundaries with friends' is an ongoing conversation for every couple. It's about continuously reaffirming your commitment to each other and ensuring that external friendships enhance, rather than detract from, the strength of your bond. What works for one couple might not work for another, but the foundation should always be trust, respect, and open communication about what makes you both feel secure in your shared life.

I trust my husband 1000% . However ,I would be looking sideways if he came home saying he met a new female friend. Let’s be honest, a married man shouldn’t be entertaining another woman long enough to become “friends “🤷🏽‍♀️. Trusting your husband doesn’t mean you should be a deaf, dumb and blind. Not being okay with him making female friends while away on a trip is not a lack of trust, it an abundance of common sense🤷🏽‍♀️
