... Read moreOkay, so let me tell you about my absolutely insane free weekend on EFT Arena. I thought it would be a fun chance to blow off some steam and try out new loadouts without the fear of losing my main stash. Boy, was I wrong! It felt like the Wild West out there, but instead of cowboys, it was full of what felt like undeniable cheaters. I've played Tarkov for a while, so I'm used to some desync or 'Tarkov'd' moments, but this was different. Within just a few rounds, I encountered players with what seemed like perfect aim, pre-firing corners where no one could've known I was, and just generally moving in ways that defy normal gameplay. It really made me wonder, are these guys just incredibly good, or is something else at play? The thought of 'We Tried Interviewing Cheaters' came to mind, and honestly, after this weekend, I totally get why someone would want to. You just want to understand the mindset behind it! One particular match really stands out. I was holding a strong angle, completely covered, and suddenly, I was one-tapped through what felt like three layers of concrete. Killcam showed the guy just snap to my head. No sound, no visual cue, just instant death. It was so blatant, it almost made me laugh in disbelief. This is where the frustration really kicks in for legitimate players like us. It ruins the immersion and the competitive spirit of the game. So, what are some of the signs of an EFT cheater that I've personally observed? Unnatural Aim/Snaps: Their crosshair locks onto your head or chest with inhuman speed, often through bushes or walls. ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) / Wallhacks: They seem to know exactly where you are at all times, making impossible pre-fires or tracking you through solid objects. Speed Hacks: Players moving much faster than normal, often rubber-banding or teleporting short distances. No Recoil/No Spread: Laser-beam accuracy from weapons that should have significant recoil. Loot Vacuuming: This is less common in Arena but still a thing in main Tarkov – suddenly all high-value loot in a large area disappears. It's disheartening to encounter, especially during an event like a free weekend when new players are trying the game. It creates a terrible first impression. As a community, we need to be vigilant. If you suspect someone is cheating, the best course of action is to: Record Gameplay: If possible, always try to record clips. This evidence is invaluable. Report In-Game: Use the in-game reporting system. While it might feel like a black hole sometimes, every report helps. Avoid Engagement: Don't feed into their behavior in chat. It rarely helps and can sometimes lead to toxic interactions. Ultimately, dealing with cheaters is a constant battle for games like Tarkov. Battlestate Games does ban waves, but it feels like a hydra – cut off one head, two more grow back. However, the more legitimate players understand the signs and report effectively, the better we can make the game for everyone else. This free weekend definitely reinforced my belief that while cheaters are a major headache, the thrill of legitimate victories in EFT is still unmatched. Let's keep making Tarkov a better place, one report at a time!
