Ask me anything about fixing your resume and I’ll do my best to help!

Day 15 of 30 days of teaching you how to make your life easier with ChatGPT.

Most resumes never make it to a recruiter because they’re filtered out by an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) before a human ever sees them.

In this video, I show you how to use ChatGPT to audit your resume like a recruiter, identify what’s hurting your ATS score, compare it to the job description, and rewrite it to better match the role you’re applying for. It’s one of the easiest ways to improve your resume without paying for an expensive review.

Save this for your next job application, and send it to someone who’s job hunting.

... Read moreHaving personally used ChatGPT to optimize my resume, I can say that auditing your resume through the lens of an ATS greatly improves your job application success. Many resumes never reach human recruiters because ATS software filters out those lacking keywords or proper formatting. By inputting your current resume and the job description into ChatGPT, you can identify which parts of your resume weaken your ATS score. For instance, vague job duties or missing key terms often cause rejection. After pinpointing these flaws, I then used ChatGPT’s suggestions to rewrite bullet points, ensuring relevant keywords were naturally integrated and accomplishments were clearly stated. One tip I found effective is to tailor your resume each time you apply by closely mirroring the job description’s language and phrasing. ChatGPT serves as a great assistant to generate professional-sounding content that aligns well with each role without sounding generic. In addition to keyword optimization, I learned to keep formatting simple—avoid complex tables or graphics that ATS might misread. Using standard headings like "Experience" and "Education" helps parsing software identify sections correctly. Overall, using ChatGPT as a resume audit tool saved me hundreds of dollars in professional resume reviews. It also gave me the confidence that my resume would pass automated screenings and reach a real recruiter who could recognize my qualifications. If you’re job hunting, I highly recommend incorporating ChatGPT into your resume preparation routine. It’s a powerful, cost-effective way to improve your chances and gives you a valuable edge over applicants relying solely on traditional resume formats.
