Two Flames
2 flames
The 2 Brightest flames,
Dancing,
Flickering
reflecting their light and energy onto all
But alone .
Never once noticing the other ,
Burning brightly
And flames flickering tall
Engulfed in their own heat, all consuming
Until
Their sparks flicker on to one another,
Merging into one
Rapidly building into a huge inferno
Their passions mixing
Their flames battling for dominance.
Never once noticing they have almost grown to big, sucking in more oxygen than has been given.
Slowly they die,
Slowly the realization that the fight to be the brightest, the biggest, has been lost in the past
All that’s left is separation.
Two flames, miles apart… burning still but barely able to cast a shadow.
Leaning towards one another, hoping the breeze doesn’t completely take them out for good…

Two flames to small now to move closer
Two flames hoping this flicker isn’t there last
One flame hoping it is
One flame trying to find more accelerant
One flame backing away
One flame moving close
