My 75 Hard

I want to start the 75 Hard Challenge. I know that I’m best motivated when I actually have a schedule to maintain, so I feel that this back to school season is the most practical time for me to try it out. I maintained the basics from the original, but I added new components to make it worthwhile for the lifestyle I want.

1. Diet: 2 liters of water, a healthy diet (not being super restrictive b/c that’ll backfire for me), and no alcohol

2. Daily Workouts: A minimum of 45 minutes each and one must be outdoors. I want to use this time to be more creative in movement because I know I’m not ready to step in a gym yet.

3. Reading: Read a nonfiction book that will better my mindset or life in general. And always make sure to stay in the Bible.

4. Progress: I’m not comfortable in front of a camera, even if it’s only for my eyes. So, I will start with a picture every 3-4 days and hopefully gain confidence.

5. Wellbeing: It’s not an original component in the original, but this is an area where I really fall short. So, I know this will be my real challenge.

6. God-sized goals: I have so many things that I want to accomplish, even though they seem impossible. I want to dedicate time to actively work towards and speak life into my future. In doing so, I want to make sure that I am only pursuing the goals that God says are meant for me.

... Read moreOkay, so I'm absolutely buzzing to share more about my personalized 75 Hard Challenge! When I first looked into it, the core structure felt amazing, but I knew I had to tweak a few things to make it truly sustainable and transformative for my life. It’s not just about completing 75 days; it's about building habits that last. Let's deep dive into some of my personalized rule 'schema' and how I plan to tackle them, especially for those of you also considering this journey. First up, water intake. This is a big one on the original 75 Hard, and I’m definitely sticking to my 2 liters daily. It sounds simple, but consistency is key! My plan? I’ve bought a marked water bottle that shows me exactly how much I’ve consumed throughout the day. I aim to finish my first liter by lunchtime and the second by early evening. Avoiding drinking too much too close to bedtime helps prevent interruptions to sleep. I've also found that adding a slice of lemon or cucumber can make it more appealing if plain water gets a bit boring. I’m hoping this consistent hydration will boost my energy, improve my skin, and just generally make me feel more vibrant. For diet, my approach is about mindful eating rather than extreme restriction. I know myself, and being too strict usually leads to a rebound! So, my healthy diet means focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, plenty of vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. I'm meal prepping on Sundays to ensure I have nutritious options readily available, which really helps when life gets busy. And yes, absolutely no alcohol for 75 days – that’s a non-negotiable for me to truly reset my body. The daily workouts are another exciting part. Two 45-minute sessions, one outdoors, every single day! I'm planning to get creative here. My outdoor workout might be a brisk walk in a local park, a hike on a nearby trail, or even some bodyweight exercises in my backyard. For my indoor session, I'm thinking online yoga flows, dance workouts, or even some active stretching and mobility work. The goal is consistent movement that I enjoy, rather than forcing myself into something I dread. Reading a non-fiction book to better my mindset or life is something I already love, but making it a daily habit is the challenge. I’ve lined up a few self-development books that have been on my list. And staying in the Bible daily isn’t just a task; it’s my spiritual anchor, providing perspective and peace during what can be a demanding period. My new additions, wellbeing and God-sized goals, are where I feel this challenge will truly transform me. Dedicating specific time to wellbeing means journaling my thoughts, practicing gratitude, or just sitting in quiet reflection. It’s about nurturing my mental and emotional health as much as my physical. And those God-sized goals? I’m going to dedicate time every day to visualize them, pray over them, and take small, actionable steps. It could be researching a new skill, outlining a personal project, or simply affirming my aspirations. This isn't just a physical challenge for me; it's a holistic reboot. By personalizing the structure and focusing on what truly nourishes me, I’m setting myself up not just to survive 75 Hard, but to thrive and build habits that will carry me far beyond day 75. Wish me luck!
