Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?” 1 Corinthians
Good morning and happy Thursday friends ☀️
Lately I’ve been working through some things and trying to be intentional about investing in my health… physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I definitely don’t have it all figured out and I’m far from perfect, but I truly try to become a little better each day.
One thing I’ve learned is that our bodies often whisper before they scream. So many times we get caught up in work, responsibilities, stress, and taking care of everyone else that we ignore the subtle signs that something may be off… until we get a jolting reminder that we need to slow down and pay attention.
I’ve worked hard to advocate for myself, ask questions, seek answers, and explore holistic and natural options whenever possible. That journey hasn’t always been easy, but it has taught me the importance of being informed, listening to my body, and not being afraid to keep pushing when something doesn’t feel right.
This season of growth has stretched me in many ways, but it has also strengthened my faith. God continues to remind me that caring for ourselves matters and that wisdom, discernment, and perseverance are important parts of the journey.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?” 1 Corinthians 6:19
I truly believe we are called to steward our health well, not out of vanity, but so we can fully walk in the purpose God has for us.
Today I’m choosing to keep growing, keep learning, keep advocating, and keep trusting God through the process. Progress over perfection. One step at a time.
What is one area of your health or life that you’re trying to be more intentional about lately? 💕
In my experience, embracing the idea that our bodies are temples has transformed the way I approach health. I've realized that health isn’t just about appearance or fleeting motivation but about honoring the sacred space we live in every day. This mindset encourages me to treat my body with respect and attention even when life gets overwhelming. One valuable lesson I've learned is to be more attentive to the subtle signals our bodies send. Often, these whisper warnings come in forms like prolonged fatigue, unusual aches, or emotional unrest. I now try to pause and reflect instead of pushing through. It’s amazing how much more we can achieve when we listen carefully rather than waiting for a crisis. Exploring holistic and natural options has been enlightening. For example, integrating mindfulness and gentle physical activities like yoga has helped me balance my mental and spiritual well-being alongside my physical health. Also, I’ve found that nourishing my body with wholesome foods, and sometimes supplements, supports my overall vitality and aligns with the idea that “everything is important, but your health is paramount.” Faith plays a pivotal role in staying grounded through this growth. Trusting in a higher purpose helps me embrace the ups and downs and reminds me that progress, not perfection, is the goal. It’s about steady, conscious steps toward better health, fueled by perseverance and self-compassion. I encourage anyone on their own health journey to be patient and kind with themselves. Advocate for what you need, seek knowledge, and don’t hesitate to prioritize your well-being. After all, honoring our bodies as temples is a lifelong commitment—one that enriches every area of life and empowers us to fulfill our unique purposes.
