Journal with me - A Prayer of Surrender
🖊️ Journal With Me: A Letter of Surrender 🙏
Sometimes, we carry burdens we were never meant to hold. Today, let’s surrender them to God. Write a letter pouring out your heart—your worries, fears, and dreams—and place it in His hands. There’s peace in trusting Him.
What are you surrendering to God today? 🌿

Hey everyone! Following up on my recent post about journaling a letter of surrender to God, I wanted to dive a little deeper into why this practice has become such a lifeline for me and how you can start your own journey. Sometimes, it feels like we're constantly juggling worries, big and small, and the weight can become unbearable. That's exactly why I started to journal with me, pouring out my heart in a letter of surrender. Why Surrender Journaling? It's More Than Just Writing. For me, it’s about intentionally acknowledging my burdens, naming my fears, and then consciously choosing to release them. It’s not about ignoring problems, but about recognizing that some things are beyond my control and can be entrusted to a higher power. This act of surrendering to God through writing brings a profound sense of relief and peace. It clarifies my thoughts, helps me process emotions, and strengthens my faith, reminding me that I don't have to carry everything alone. It’s about building trust, one written word at a time. Ready to Journal With Me? Here's How to Start Your Own Surrender Letter: You don't need anything fancy – just a pen, paper, and a quiet moment. Find a space where you feel comfortable and undisturbed. Set Your Intention: Before you start writing, take a few deep breaths. Close your eyes, and think about what you want to release. What burdens are weighing heavily on your heart today? Address Your Letter: You can address it directly to God, the Universe, or whatever spiritual entity resonates with you. For me, it's always "Dear God,". Pour Out Your Heart: This is where you get completely honest. Write about your worries, fears, anxieties, frustrations, and even your hopes and dreams. Don't filter or judge your thoughts. Just let them flow. *Prompt ideas:* "I'm worried about...", "I'm struggling with...", "I feel overwhelmed by...", "I'm letting go of...", "I'm trusting You with...", "My biggest fear right now is...", "I'm dreaming of...", "Please guide me on..." The Act of Surrender: Explicitly state your intention to surrender these burdens. You might write, "I surrender these worries to You," or "I place this situation in Your hands, trusting that You will work it out for my highest good." Express Gratitude and Trust: End your letter with an expression of thanks and renewed trust. This reinforces your faith and helps shift your perspective towards hope. What to Do Next: Once you've written your letter, you can keep it, tear it up, or even burn it (safely, of course!) as a symbolic act of release. I often keep mine to look back on how God has moved in my life, but sometimes, the act of writing it is enough. Making it a Regular Practice for Lasting Peace: This isn’t a one-time fix; it’s a spiritual discipline. Try to incorporate it into your routine, whether it's once a week, every morning, or whenever you feel overwhelmed. The more you practice, the more natural and comforting it becomes. I’ve found that even on days when I feel like I have nothing to surrender, just sitting down and connecting with my faith through writing brings incredible clarity and calm. It truly helps you cultivate a deeper faith in action and trust that you are always supported. This journey of writing for the soul has been incredibly therapeutic, and I hope it brings you as much peace as it has brought me. Let's continue to journal with me on this path to inner peace and stronger faith!
