🚨Hurricane Beryl 🌪️

During the hurricane I was so afraid for my babies. Including the one I’m carrying.

I got a call at 6am telling me to wake up, 🆘dress the family and pack bags incase we have to evacuate. 🧳🧳🧳 freeze water bottles and fill the tubs and sinks.

I couldn’t help but stare out of my window the entire time. 👁️👃🏾👁️

By 8am the power AND WATER went off.

🫠my ass forgot to fill the tubs and sinks.

Unfortunately we weren’t prepared with food so things were EXTREMELY scarce. I just kept feeding the girls peanut butter crackers until it was safe to leave. The next day.

By the end of the night we ended up stripping down to less than our socks and had all the windows and blinds in the house open to circulate the air.

The night was lit by two Roman candles. 🕯️ and two over priced gas station flashlights.

I live on the first floor so if anyone seen anything walking by our open window they weren’t meant to…. 😶‍🌫️🫣😬

THEY OWE ME SOME MONEY!🤣

As of right now my power is back on but our house was the very last to get it in my family so we made couches over at my sisters as comfy as possible as she hosted us.

One thing we haven’t recovered from is throwing out ALL that food. 🚮

I think I spent just under $200 for groceries for the week only to throw it out.

I froze water bottles in the freezer and it still didn’t keep.

Anyways #deardiary America is ghetto

We are all one gust of wind away from living in the Stone Age.

Additional Tips:

BUY A GENERATOR ‼️

BUY A BATTERY POWERED FAN‼️

FILL THE DAMN TUB

Buy non perishables and a manual can opener

Thing that saved me from my kids bordem is that they’re not iPad kids📵. Barbies coloring books and crayons were everywhere. …which was another hell. 🫣
