Basset Hounds
It's the KISS video!! We wanted to show everyone how we train the puppies to respond to a kissing sound, this does that pretty well!
We start teaching them this by kissing whenever we give them their food they very quickly learn to listen for that sound. Then it just continues throughout their time here kissing means good things whether it's food, a new toy, or just simply love and extra snuggles 🥰
It's such a good training tool for when the puppies start exploring outside in their new homes if they start to wander away it's a great way to keep their attention on you!

When I started training my Basset Hound puppies, I found that incorporating the KISS sound as a cue was incredibly effective. The key is consistency—every time I gave them food, I would make the kissing sound. Very quickly, they associated it with something positive. Beyond feeding, I continued using it during playtime and cuddles, which reinforced the connection. One of the biggest challenges with Basset Hound puppies is their curiosity and tendency to wander when outside. Using the kissing sound as a recall helped me keep their attention without raising my voice or using harsh commands. This gentle method aligns well with their sensitive nature and strong scent-driven instincts. I also noticed that this approach encourages closeness and trust between me and the puppies. They start to look forward to hearing the kissing sound, knowing it means affection or a treat. This makes training fun and emotionally rewarding for both of us. For owners who want a strong training foundation with their Basset Hound puppies, I highly recommend trying this KISS technique. It’s simple, humane, and effective in everyday situations—from meal times to outdoor adventures. Plus, it strengthens the bond by reminding your dog that the kisses are always a prelude to good things.
