💥Katsuki Bakugou Redesign🧡

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to finally share more about my Katsuki Bakugou redesign project. It's been a passion of mine to explore different facets of beloved characters, and Bakugou, with his dynamic persona, offered so many possibilities. I really wanted to dive deep into not just his aesthetic, but also how certain life experiences might shape his appearance and gear. One of the most significant changes I explored was the idea of 'Deaf aids' and the backstory of him 'Went deaf at 11.' This wasn't just a random choice; I felt it could add a new layer of vulnerability and resilience to his character, influencing how he perceives and reacts to the world around him. Imagining how he'd adapt his fighting style or communication with this change opened up a whole new realm of creative thinking. It also led me to consider subtle details like how 'Explosion scars' might look if they were more pronounced or integrated into his daily life, not just battle. Working on his hair was surprisingly challenging, as the original post mentioned. I experimented with what I affectionately called 'Goofy ah hair' before landing on a design that incorporated 'Braids-7 Ribbons'. I thought braids could symbolize a different kind of strength or even a cultural nod, making him look fierce but with an unexpected detail. And yes, giving him 'fangs' was a fun touch to emphasize his explosive, almost predatory nature on the battlefield! For his hero costume, while I kept the core essence, I wanted to enhance its practicality and visual interest. I added 'Metal knee pads' for extra protection during his explosive maneuvers and refined the look of his 'Sweat grenades' to be even more intimidating. Small details like 'Initials on Belt' and adjusting his 'High top boots' with some extra 'spikes' made the design feel more personalized and aggressive. It's 'basically the same + spikes,' but those little additions really make a difference in grounding the design. My goal was to create a redesign that felt authentic to Bakugou's character while pushing the boundaries of what we usually see. When you're working on character redesigns, I've found it really helps to think about their personal history, potential injuries, or even environmental factors that could influence their appearance. Don't be afraid to experiment with elements like scars, unique accessories, or even a different hairstyle like braids. It's all about telling a new story with visual cues. It's truly rewarding to see how a few thoughtful changes can completely refresh a character's look and add new dimensions to their story. What do you think of these redesign choices?
