Hosting a baby shower can feel overwhelming, but honestly, it was one of the most rewarding experiences! My goal for the 'Here Comes The Son' theme was to make it super interactive and meaningful, and I think we totally nailed it with these activities. The Onesie Making Station was an absolute hit, and it was so simple to set up! I bought a variety of plain white onesies in different sizes (newborn to 12 months) and fabric markers. For our onesie making station sign, I just printed out a cute instruction sheet with a sun graphic that said, "Decorate a onesie for Baby Dugan!" I also laid out some fabric paint, stencils, and even some iron-on patches for those who weren't artistic. Seeing everyone's creativity was amazing, and it resulted in a collection of truly unique outfits for the little one. It’s a fantastic way to get guests involved beyond just gifting. Another activity that sparked a lot of laughs and heartfelt moments was the Late Night Diaper Messages. This is such a practical yet sweet idea for new parents. I set out a basket of diapers (various sizes are good!) and some permanent markers with a sign that read, "Leave a message for Baby Dugan's late-night diaper changes!" Guests wrote funny jokes, encouraging words, or even mini-prayers on the bum of the diapers. Imagine waking up at 3 AM for a change and seeing a message like "You got this, Mama!" – it’s a small detail that makes a huge difference during those tiring nights. It's truly one of my favorite diaper messages baby shower ideas. We also encouraged guests to start Baby Dugan's library with a "Books for Baby instead of a card" station. I found an adorable wicker bassinet and filled it with a 'Goodnight ABC' book and a cute sun plush toy. The sign politely asked for a book instead of a greeting card, with a little note about writing a message inside. This way, the baby gets a cherished collection of stories and a personal inscription from loved ones. Beyond these, we had a few other lovely stations that made the day special. The "Baby advice & predictions" cards were a blast, especially reading through all the funny and wise tips. And for those who wanted to contribute something more artistic, the "Baby's First Block Set" activity had guests decorating wooden blocks with colorful markers and crayons. We even had coloring pages for a "Baby's First ABC BOOK" which adults surprisingly loved! These activities kept everyone engaged and felt much more personal than traditional games. They were perfect baby shower activities for adults, creating lasting memories and practical gifts for the parents-to-be. Plus, watching everyone participate and share their love for the baby was the best part of the whole baby shower!
