Okay, so I've been on a mission to find truly delicious, guilt-free snacks, and let me tell you, this sugar-free candied pecans and hazelnuts recipe has been an absolute game-changer for me! I used to think candied nuts were just for special occasions or holiday treats, but with this keto-friendly version, they've become my go-to anytime snack. They are absolutely dreamy and so satisfying, whether I'm craving something sweet or just need a little boost. One thing I've learned is that getting that perfect crispy coating is key. When you're beating the egg whites and water, aim for a really frothy consistency – it helps everything stick better. And don't be shy about coating those pecans and hazelnuts well! I always make sure every single nut gets a good shower of that sweetener mixture. Another personal tip: while the recipe says to stir after 15-20 minutes, I sometimes check even earlier, especially if my oven runs hot. You want them toasted golden, not burnt! The smell alone while they're baking is delicious and fills my kitchen with such a warm, inviting aroma. For the sweetener, I've experimented a bit. While the original recipe suggests a granulated sweetener, I've had great success with erythritol or a blend of erythritol and monk fruit. They both give that lovely sweetness without any weird aftertaste, which is crucial for a must-try recipe like this. The key is to find one you love! These candied nuts aren't just for snacking straight out of the jar. I love sprinkling them over my morning yogurt or oatmeal for a touch of crunch and sweetness. They're also fantastic on a fall salad with some goat cheese and apple slices – a real elevated touch! And if you're looking for an easy, thoughtful gift, just pack them into a cute jar with a ribbon. Everyone I've given them to has raved about how delicious they are and how they can't believe they're sugar-free. Storage is super simple too. Once they're completely cool (this is important, otherwise they might get sticky), I store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They stay fresh and crunchy for ages, though honestly, they never last long in my house! If you're like me and always looking for a healthy snack option that doesn't compromise on flavor, you absolutely must try these sugar-free candied pecans and hazelnuts. They hit all the right notes: sweet, crunchy, satisfying, and completely guilt-free. It's truly an easy and quick dessert or a fantastic keto snack that you'll want to make again and again!
