Get that stretch

One of my biggest pet peeves is those that are hyper-focused on the lifting and not the stretching. Do your warm, your lift, then your damn stretch.🤘🏼

... Read moreIn my personal fitness journey, I’ve realized that skipping stretches after lifting can seriously hinder progress and increase the risk of injuries. It’s tempting to rush through your workout focusing only on hitting those heavy lifts, but feeling deeply connected to your body through stretching post-lift can make a massive difference. Stretching is not just about flexibility—it helps your muscles recover, improves blood flow, and maintains range of motion. When you push your muscles during lifting, tiny tears occur. Stretching helps realign muscle fibers, reduce soreness, and prevent stiffness. I follow a simple routine: start with a warmup to get muscles ready, then follow with controlled lifting, and always finish with dynamic and static stretches targeting the muscles worked. This sequence not only boosts performance but promotes long-term mobility. Remember the phrase from the image in the post, "Don't forget to stretch Don"? It’s a good reminder to never skip that crucial step. Whether it’s hamstring stretches, shoulder openers, or calf stretches, incorporating them post-workout keeps you stayflexy and fit. Ultimately, consistent stretching turns your workout into a holistic practice where strength and flexibility go hand in hand. Embrace the routine—warm, lift, then your damn stretch—and you’ll feel the difference deep within your muscles and overall fitness.
