Making Snack Packs
Making my work snack packs with a container of mixed nuts and dried cranberries.
I wanted to use up items that I had partial packages of in my cabinets and in the fridge.
Creating snack packs is a great way to manage portion control, avoid unhealthy snacking, and reduce food waste. I personally enjoy making custom snack packs by combining a variety of ingredients like mixed nuts, dried cranberries, and salty crackers. For example, including items like Planters cashews, cheddar Goldfish crackers, and turkey sticks can add great flavor and texture variety. I often find myself with partial packages in my pantry or fridge, such as bags of almonds, garlic olive snacks, or hickory turkey sticks. Instead of letting these go stale, I portion them out into small reusable containers that are easy to grab on my way out. This not only makes my workday snacking more enjoyable but also helps me stick to healthier options instead of vending machine choices. One tip for assembling snack packs is to balance sweet, salty, and crunchy elements. Dried fruits like cranberries add natural sweetness and chewiness, while nuts provide protein and healthy fats. Adding baked snack crackers or Goldfish cheddar crackers gives a satisfying crunch. Meal prepping these snack packs in advance saves time during busy mornings and encourages mindful eating habits. It’s also budget-friendly as it minimizes impulse buys and makes use of what you already have. Plus, sharing your snack pack ideas and recipes on platforms like TikTok can inspire others to make their own creative combinations. Overall, snack packs are versatile, easy to customize, and a practical solution for anyone looking to improve their snacking routines while minimizing food waste around the home.
