Mermaid Nails🧜🏼♀️🪼🌊
I did this set for my Live Action Little Mermaid birthday party and they were so fun😝
What to ask for!
🧜🏼♀️ any shape you’d like (I did medium-short almond)
🌊 two nails have a French variation- using sculpting gel I made rough lines along the base and/or tip of the nail then applied silver chrome powder (this is supposed to look a little messy to give the illusion of scales)
🪼 two nails a light blue color with pearl chrome powder, then mermaid scales on top with a milky white color
🐠 one nail a nude pink color with pearl chrome on top- then using sculpting gel I made little “water droplets” all over the nail
These were so much fun to do and so perfect for all the ocean lovers out there!!🧜🏼♀️🪼🌊🐠💙
All the designs on my page are done by me! Inspo for this get was a combo of different sets on Pinterest.

My recent mermaid nails were such a hit, and I know many of you are looking for more ocean-inspired nail art! Beyond the specific design I shared for my Little Mermaid birthday party, there are so many ways to dive deeper into the mermaidcore trend. Let's talk colors first! While my set featured beautiful light blue nails with pearl chrome and a nude pink nail with a pearlescent finish, don't limit yourself. Think about the full spectrum of the ocean. Imagine shimmering teal and purple nails, evoking a sunset over the waves, or soft pastel mermaid nails with iridescent glitters for a more ethereal vibe. A rich, deep green can mimic seaweed, while a bright coral could represent playful fish. Mixing these hues with a pearl chrome powder gives an even more magical, underwater glow that truly pops. For those intricate designs, achieving those milky white scales or delicate water droplets as seen on my almond-shaped nails can be done in several ways. For scales, beyond the silver chrome powder I used in a French tip variation, you can ask your nail tech for freehand painting with a fine brush or even apply small, iridescent flakes or sequins. For water droplets, a clear builder gel or top coat carefully placed and cured creates that realistic 3D effect. You can even add tiny, almost invisible glitter within the droplet for an extra sparkle! What about nail shape? My medium-short almond-shaped nails felt perfect for the theme, but mermaid nails are incredibly versatile. If you prefer a bolder look, coffin or stiletto shapes can enhance the "underwater villain" or siren aesthetic. For a more practical, everyday wear, especially if you're active, short square mermaid nails can still look stunning. Imagine a subtle French tip with silver chrome scales on a short square nail – chic and functional! Mermaid nails aren't just for birthday parties! They're absolutely perfect for vacation beach nail designs, adding that extra touch of magic to your seaside getaway. Planning a cruise? These designs scream 'ocean adventure'! They also make fantastic 'birthday pisces nails' or a whimsical choice for anyone who loves the mystical ocean. When you're heading to the beach, consider sealing your design with an extra durable top coat to protect against sand and saltwater, keeping your mermaid magic intact. Another fun idea is to extend the mermaid vibe to your mermaid toes! A simple shell design or a gradient of ocean colors on your pedicure can tie your whole look together. Don't forget about adding embellishments like tiny pearls, seashells, or even small studs to elevate the design further. Remember, the key to stunning mermaid nail designs is often layers of color and texture. From the base color to the pearl chrome, the scales, and the water droplets, each element builds on the last to create a cohesive, enchanting look. Don't be afraid to show your nail tech lots of inspo pictures and discuss exactly what you envision! Happy mermaiding!
