My husband asked for a divorce 🫠

I moved into my first apartment solo & now my husband wants a divorce… let’s discuss my feelings.

My husband of almost 5 years told me he is getting divorced papers today.

After being separated for 7 months with no work to reconcile.

I feel betrayed and lied to.

I’m close to his family. It’s going to be hard to know someone else is going to be taking that place that’s been mine for 10 years.

He would gaslight me and throw it back in my face “i NeVer sAiD i wAnTeD to DiVoRcE” well buddy now you did. You may have not said it to me verbally your actions have spoken louder than your words.

I just said “okay” & later called him otp to let him know any new person I need to meet first before our daughters do.

He said okay.. but honestly I believe that person may have already been around.. idk I could be wrong or it’s just the insecurities talking but hey 🤷🏾‍♀️ we’ll see

Although I didn’t want to divorce, I feel like a weight is lifted off me. Like I have space to breathe and the unknown of my marriage isn’t constantly dwelling over my head!

Moving forward to healing and a fast divorce 🤞🏾

... Read moreThe emotional rollercoaster of divorce is undeniable, and as I shared in my main post, there are moments of profound betrayal and unexpected relief. But beyond the immediate feelings, there's a whole new landscape to navigate, one that often brings a fresh wave of anxiety: finances after divorce. It's a topic many of us might not fully consider until we're deep in the thick of it, and it profoundly impacts our journey toward healing and a new chapter. I remember those early days, sitting in my car, sunlight streaming through the window, my hand often resting on my forehead in deep contemplation, trying to piece together what my financial future would look like. Before, there was a shared income, a combined sense of security. Now, suddenly, it was just me. The thought of managing everything solo, especially with daughters, felt immensely daunting. Would I be able to maintain our lifestyle? How would I budget for everything from rent to school supplies to unexpected emergencies? These questions swirled, often overshadowing the emotional grief. One of the first steps, and arguably the most overwhelming, was understanding what I actually had. It’s not just about what’s in the bank account; it's about separating joint assets, dealing with debts, and figuring out what fair child support or spousal support might look like. It forces you to confront the reality of your financial standing head-on. Many days, I felt like I was learning a whole new language, wading through legal documents and financial jargon. It’s easy to feel lost, but I’ve learned that asking questions and seeking guidance, even if it's just from trusted friends who've been through it, is crucial. This period of financial independence, though birthed from heartbreak, has also become a surprising source of empowerment. It's about rebuilding, brick by brick. I started meticulously tracking my expenses, creating a realistic budget, and looking for ways to save where I could. I even began exploring new skills and potential side hustles, driven by a desire to not just survive but thrive. It's a slow process, certainly not an overnight fix, but each small step toward financial stability feels like a monumental victory. This journey of rebuilding my finances isn't just about numbers; it's deeply intertwined with my emotional recovery. Taking control of my money has helped me regain a sense of control over my life. It’s a quiet act of reflection, planning for a future that is entirely my own making. Instead of dwelling on a "net worth" defined by a past partnership, I'm now focused on building my own security, my own legacy for my girls. It’s about creating a foundation of resilience, knowing that I can stand on my own two feet, no matter what challenges come my way. For anyone navigating a similar path, remember that reclaiming your financial narrative is a powerful step towards true healing and embracing your strength.

CHILD OF DIVORCE (Playground prequel)
“Child of Divorce” by Aron Beauregard is one of those books that grabs you by the throat from page one and doesn’t let go. It’s dark, it’s twisted, and it’s way too real at times. The whole vibe is brutal but in the best way…like you’re pulled right into the chaos and can’t look away. What I lov
