3rd time doing my own nails 💅

The cover does not make it justice on how sparkly they are. I’ve been under a lot of stress lately so practicing nails art is being helping… that star took an hour or so until I liked it enough 🤣

It somewhat reminds me of the urururu nails, but always with a celestial twist.

I will say that I need to shape my nails better, I liked them more almond shaped.

Celestial nail designs have completely captured my heart, and this latest attempt at home has me feeling super accomplished. It's more than just polish; it's a little piece of art that brings a sparkle to my everyday, especially when I'm feeling stressed. Embracing the Celestial Trend at Home When I first started exploring celestial nail art, I was intimidated, thinking I needed professional skills. But honestly, it’s all about experimenting and having fun. For this particular mani, I focused on a deep, shimmering base to mimic the night sky, then added delicate details. Stars, moons, and tiny glitter accents are staples for celestial nails. You don't need fancy tools; a dotting tool (or even a bobby pin) and a fine brush can work wonders for creating tiny stars or crescent moons. The key is layering—a sheer glitter top coat can really make your celestial elements pop and give that dreamy, ethereal vibe. I've found that patience is my best friend when trying to get those intricate details just right, like the star that took me an hour! But the satisfaction of seeing my vision come to life on my nails? Totally worth it. Decoding Urururu Nails – My Interpretation I mentioned my nails reminded me of 'urururu' nails, and while that might be a niche reference, for me, it speaks to a certain delicate, almost watery or ethereal sparkle. It’s not just about glitter; it’s about a subtle, multi-dimensional shimmer that catches the light in a unique way. To achieve this 'urururu' feel, I layered different types of glitter – some fine, some slightly chunkier, but all in complementary celestial tones. Think iridescent flakes or a translucent, opalescent topcoat over a darker base. The goal isn't an opaque glitter bomb, but rather a sophisticated, almost liquid-like sparkle that shifts as your hands move. It’s about creating depth and mystery, much like the galaxies above us. It’s what makes this newest mani feel so special and personal. My Journey with DIY Nail Art & Tips for Your Own Mani Doing my nails at home has become a therapeutic hobby. It’s amazing how focusing on a small, creative task can help melt away the day's stress. This was my third time really diving into an elaborate design, and each attempt feels like a step forward in my nail journey. If you're thinking of trying DIY nail art, here are a few things I've learned: Prep is Key: Always start with clean, prepped nails. Push back cuticles, file, and buff lightly. This makes a huge difference in how your polish adheres and lasts. Invest in Good Base & Top Coats: A quality base coat protects your nails and helps the polish last longer, while a good top coat seals everything in, adds shine, and prevents chipping. This is crucial for making your 'Newest Mani' look salon-fresh. Thin Coats are Your Friend: Multiple thin coats of polish are always better than one thick, gloppy one. They dry faster and are less prone to smudging. Don't Be Afraid to Experiment: Some of my best designs came from happy accidents or just trying something new. Tools like nail art brushes, dotting tools, and even sponges can open up a world of possibilities. Clean Up as You Go: Keep a small brush dipped in nail polish remover handy to clean up any mistakes around your cuticles. This makes the finished look much tidier. Achieving Perfect Nail Shapes On a side note, I’m still working on shaping. I loved how my nails looked more almond-shaped, but getting that perfect, symmetrical curve on both hands takes practice. For almond shapes, you gradually file the sides of your nail towards the center, making sure to keep the tip softly pointed. It’s a delicate balance to avoid making them too sharp or too rounded. It’s all part of the learning curve for a truly 'By me' professional-looking set of nails!
