Currently Reading✨ The Inheritance Games Series

I am so obsessed with this series! I have been stuck reading romance and even though it has a little bit of romance in the book, it’s not much. This series keeps you on your toes. It’s about a poor girl who lost her mother and is left an inheritance worth billions. Went from staying in her car one night to living in a mansion the next. Only thing is she has to live in the house with the family, who thought they would be the heirs once the time came, for one year. If she doesn’t live in the house for a year she does not get the inheritance. It is not scary at all! I rate this series a 10/10. If you have not read it runnnnnnnn to the book store! 📚❤️ #bookclub #Lemon8Diary #lemon8books #reading #booktok

... Read moreI'm so thrilled you're considering diving into The Inheritance Games series! After finishing 'The Final Gambit' (which I'm still thinking about!), I can confidently say this entire series is an absolute masterpiece and truly 'Worth the Hype,' just like the overlay on my copy suggests. If you're like me and constantly searching for a book that keeps you guessing, this is it. It completely pulled me out of a reading slump. One of the most frequently asked questions I see is about the Inheritance Games reading order. It’s super important to read them in sequence to fully appreciate the unfolding mystery and character development. Here’s how I read them, and the official order: The Inheritance Games The Hawthorne Legacy The Final Gambit There are also companion novellas, 'Games of the Gods' and 'The Brothers Hawthorne,' which you can read after the main trilogy for extra insights into the characters' lives. I found 'The Brothers Hawthorne' especially fun for a deeper dive! What truly makes this series shine are the intricate riddles and puzzles. Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a genius at weaving clues into every chapter, making you feel like you're right there with Avery, trying to decipher Tobias Hawthorne's will. It’s not just a story; it’s an interactive challenge! I loved trying to solve the mysteries alongside the characters, from cryptic notes to hidden passages. The intellectual thrill is incredibly satisfying. Speaking of characters, if you're curious about Thea Calligaris and Rebecca Laughlin, they are fascinating parts of the Hawthorne family's complex history and play roles in the overarching mystery. Without giving too much away, their stories add layers to the family drama and the challenges Avery faces. But honestly, it's Avery and the four Hawthorne brothers – especially Jameson and Grayson – who really steal the show with their dynamic relationships and secrets. And can we talk about the book covers? Every single one, from 'The Inheritance Games' to 'The Final Gambit,' is stunning. The intricate designs often feature elements like chess pieces, crowns, and keys, which are so symbolic of the games and riddles within the story. Seeing them on my shelf makes me so happy, and they perfectly capture the mysterious and opulent atmosphere of the Hawthorne House. The OCR image of my copy of 'The Final Gambit' perfectly showcases this iconic cover art. For those who are interested, the brilliant mind behind this series is Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Her writing style is so engaging, and she masterfully crafts suspense and intrigue. I've seen some queries online about a 'tattoo' related to Jennifer Lynn Barnes; while I don't know if she personally has one, the idea of permanent ink definitely fits the mysterious and sometimes dark aesthetic of the series itself. The clover tattoo I saw in the picture just made me think about the little details that add to the whole 'Worth the Hype' vibe of the books. It's those little touches that make a story unforgettable. Seriously, if you're on the fence about 'is The Inheritance Games worth reading?', I wholeheartedly say yes. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, puzzles, and unexpected twists that will keep you up all night turning pages. Don't walk, run to get your copies!
