YouTube Creators Collective!
I went to my first YouTube Creators Collective Event! I had SOO much fun and this is what I learned:
🎥 This one’s probably going to be hard to accept for many- YouTube is always monitoring content, QUALITY CONTENT THAT SETS YOU APART is key. YT reached out to me to be a part of their YourTube Shorts Creator program with only 520 subscribers at the time. I’ve spent hours on the content I upload and they saw the potential. Believe in yourself, you don’t need tons of subscribers for YouTube to reach out to you.
👥 Events like this are meant for you to network. Everyone there is as equally as nervous as you. This particular event didn’t allow any plus ones so unless you knew someone going you were pretty much going to have to make friends with strangers. As someone who struggles with social anxiety this almost stopped me from attending. I’m so glad I went because I met some cool people and exchanged info for future collaborations.

They are watching, and if your content stands out, they will notice. So, keep believing in yourself and keep refining your craft. This means focusing on engaging storytelling, good audio and visual quality, and genuinely connecting with your niche. Another huge aspect of the Creator Collective experience, as I discovered, is networking. Before attending, I was pretty apprehensive. The idea of walking into a room full of strangers, especially with my social anxiety, almost stopped me. But the event didn’t allow plus-ones, forcing me to step out of my comfort zone. And I am so genuinely glad I did! Everyone there, from budding creators to more established ones, was incredibly welcoming. We all had that common thread of being a 'YouTube creator.' I found that simply asking people about their channels, what they create, and their journey was a fantastic ice-breaker. Things like my event badge and the branded name badge were conversation starters, too. It made me realize that these meetups, like the Creator Collective Washington event, are designed to foster community. I exchanged contact info with several amazing people, and we're already discussing future collaborations. Don't underestimate the power of these connections; they can lead to unexpected opportunities and incredible support systems. Beyond the invaluable advice and networking, these events are also a fantastic opportunity to get a glimpse behind the scenes of YouTube's creator support. There were moments to ask questions, learn about new features, and understand YouTube's vision for creators. Plus, who doesn't love a few goodies? I even got a cool canvas tote bag filled with a water bottle and a Creator Collective sticker, which are fun little reminders of the experience. It's not just about the freebies, though; it's the feeling of being recognized and supported by the platform itself. It reinforces that being a content creator is a legitimate path, and YouTube truly invests in its community. If you ever get the chance to attend a YouTube Creators Group event or a YouTube Creator Collective meetup, I highly recommend pushing past any hesitation. The insights, connections, and inspiration you gain are truly transformative for your creator journey.
I would personally love it if you could possibly, one day, mention & maybe do a short, brief, how to tutorial of them? I’d so much appreciate it! I hear everywhere that CapCut is the one to use and I have no idea about anything of it, how & why to use it. But I’m sure it must be useful if so many people praise their site! (Just a suggestion). I also suffer from social anxiety (coming from a past social butterfly 🦋), being around that much sound & energy is too overwhelming for me, in general.
