That feeling of being a bit shy and overwhelmed is so real, especially when you're starting back at the gym after a break. I’ve definitely had those moments where I was re-thinking my life choices mid-set or felt like I was dying on the treadmill, just like you did with your 10-minute warm-up! It's completely normal to feel that way, and honestly, acknowledging it is the first step to a successful comeback. One of the biggest things I learned for my own workout after a long break was to set super realistic expectations for Day 1. It’s not about lifting heavy or pushing to exhaustion; it’s about getting back into the routine and feeling comfortable. Remember your goal for that first day back at gym workout is just to show up! Don't worry if you feel like you need "ANY TIPS? I'D APPRECIATE" – that’s why we’re all here to support each other. For tackling that shyness, try to go during off-peak hours if possible. Also, having a simple plan can boost your confidence. Even if it's just a 10-minute treadmill warm-up followed by some basic bodyweight exercises or light machines. Don't be afraid to stick to the corners or quieter areas, just like you mentioned! Everyone starts somewhere, and most people are focused on their own workouts, not judging yours. Regarding your request for a workout split, for a beginner or someone returning, a full-body routine 2-3 times a week is often recommended. This allows your muscles to recover and adapt without overdoing it. You could do something like: Warm-up: 5-10 minutes light cardio (like your treadmill! A good 11 cal burn to start!). Lower Body: Goblet squats, lunges, leg press. Upper Body: Push-ups (on knees if needed), dumbbell rows, shoulder press. Core: Planks, crunches. Cool-down: 5-10 minutes stretching. Start with light weights and focus on form. It's much better to do 3 sets of 10 reps effectively than to struggle with heavy weights and risk injury. If a set of 30 EXPT (reps?) feels like it's burning too much, it's okay to reduce the reps or the weight. Listening to your body is crucial, especially when you felt like you "paused 3 min in & quit at 9min" – that's your body telling you to ease up. And hydration/supplements! It's so easy to forget your Celsius so got a C4 instead. Just make sure you're getting enough water throughout the day. For pre-workouts, find what works for you, but sometimes just a coffee or a small, easily digestible snack is enough. Don't feel pressured to use them if you don't feel good on them. The most important thing for your gym first day workout and beyond is consistency. Don't beat yourself up if you skip a day or have a workout where you feel like you didn't do enough. Every time you show up, you're building a habit. Keep going, and you'll definitely see progress!
