For The Raven’s Velvet Ink
She did not speak her truths aloud—
not since the night the silence screamed back.
Instead, she wrote.
Not with ink, but with intention.
Not on paper, but on veils between worlds.
The quill she used was plucked
from the wing of a bird
that had only ever flown in moonlight.
Her journal was bound in dusk,
stitched at the corners with thread soaked in lavender and regret.
She never wrote casually.
Every word, a reckoning.
Every letter, a sigil.
Some pages summoned peace.
Others summoned him.
The ones that hurt the most
were the ones she didn’t remember writing.
Her hand moved,
but her heart—
her heart was somewhere else entirely.
“Each letter I carve is a sigil,” she whispered.
“Each page I pen is a portal.”
And oh, how the portals opened.
Rooms she thought she’d buried.
Lips she thought she’d forgotten.
Eyes that once worshipped her
now flickered in candlelight,
watching from the veil between ink and ash.
They always returned—
those she wrote of.
Sometimes in dreams.
Sometimes in echoes.
Sometimes in the ache she could not name.
She never wrote to be read.
She wrote to remember.
She wrote to release.
And still, every now and then,
the page would sigh.
And the spell would take.
