but I learned how to bloom in the dark.”
There was a time I mistook love for rescue
for hands that would lift me from the wreck.
But rescue never came.
Only mirrors, and the slow, aching sound of my own name
trying to find me again.
Now, I do not beg the world to see me.
I am the sight. The witness. The storm and the sky.
There’s a wild grace in surviving
in rebuilding a home inside the body they once called ruin.
My softness is not an apology.
It’s a weapon carved from mercy.
And my fire—it no longer burns for revenge.
It burns for truth. For creation. For the girl I once was,
who held out her hands in the dark
and found herself glowing.
When I walk now, the ground remembers me.
Every scar hums a song of return.
Every heartbreak, a translation of power.
I am not what happened to me.
I am what rose after.
