Anime NYC

2025/8/24 Edited to

... Read moreWalking through the bustling halls of Anime NYC was an absolute blast, and one of the things that immediately caught my eye was the huge HIDIVE banner for 'Sword of the Demon Hunter Kujin Gentosho.' Seeing a new title like that always sparks my curiosity, especially with a unique name like 'Kujin.' Like many of you, my first thought was, "What does Kujin mean?" It’s part of the fun of discovering new anime, isn't it? After a bit of digging, and understanding the context of the banner, I learned that 'Kujin' (狗人) in the Japanese title 'Kujin no Gentosho' actually translates to 'Dog Person' or 'Werewolf.' This instantly made the 'Demon Hunter' part of the title even more intriguing! Imagine a world where dog-like beings, perhaps supernatural ones, are either the hunted or the hunters themselves. It's details like these that really draw you into a new series, and I'm definitely adding this to my watch list after spotting it at the convention. Beyond 'Kujin,' Anime NYC was a feast for the eyes and a treasure trove of new (and classic) anime discoveries! I loved seeing the massive wall graphic for 'Rooster Fighter,' depicting that fierce rooster against crumbling buildings – it just screams action and unique storytelling. And of course, you can't miss the iconic 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Part 7 Steel Ball Run' artwork; it's always a highlight to see Hirohiko Araki's incredible style brought to life on such a grand scale. The 'RWBY' banner, showcasing Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang, reminded me of the powerful heroines we all love to cheer for, and it's awesome to see their continued presence. It wasn't just action and adventure, though. Crunchyroll also had a charming banner for 'Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus,' adding a touch of festive romance to the mix. The energy of the convention, with banners from VIZ and GOODSMILE COMPANY hanging proudly, really emphasized that feeling of 'where anime fans belong.' It’s that blend of seeing popular mainstays, discovering exciting new dubs like 'Sword of the Demon Hunter Kujin Gentosho,' and even getting a glimpse of upcoming stories that makes attending these events so special. My time at Anime NYC was truly unforgettable, filled with amazing content and a vibrant community spirit!
