Fitness Friday: Lazy Girl Workout
Hey everyone,
I’m not feeling my best today, so I’m opting for a gentle workout that’s easy on the body but still keeps me moving. If any of you need a more relaxed routine today, here’s what I’m doing:
Lazy Girl In-Bed Somatic Stretching & Strengthening Workout
Total Workout Time: 60 minutes
Gentle Neck Stretch - 5 minutes
- Sit or lie comfortably. Gently tilt your head to the right, bringing your ear toward your shoulder. Hold for 30 seconds, then switch sides.
Shoulder Rolls - 5 minutes
- Roll your shoulders forward in a circular motion for 1 minute, then reverse the direction for another minute.
Cat-Cow Stretch - 5 minutes
- On all fours, arch your back (cat) and then sink your belly down, lifting your head and tailbone (cow). Alternate for 5 minutes.
Side-Lying Leg Lifts - 10 minutes (5 minutes each side)
- Lie on your side with your legs stacked. Lift your top leg up and down for 1 minute, then switch sides.
Bridge Pose - 5 minutes
- Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat. Lift your hips toward the ceiling, hold for a few seconds, and lower down. Repeat for 5 minutes.
Reclined Butterfly Stretch - 5 minutes
- Lie on your back and bring the soles of your feet together, letting your knees fall out to the sides. Hold for 5 minutes.
Seated Torso Twist - 5 minutes (2.5 minutes each side)
- Sit up tall, place one hand behind you and twist your torso to look over your shoulder. Hold for 2.5 minutes, then switch sides.
Legs Up the Wall Pose** - 10 minutes
- Lie on your back with your legs extended up against the wall. Relax in this position for 10 minutes.
Deep Breathing and Relaxation - 5 minutes
- Finish your workout by lying comfortably and taking deep breaths, focusing on relaxation.
I’m planning to go for a bike ride later, but for now, this gentle routine is just what I need to re-energize. Remember, it's okay to take it easy sometimes and listen to your body.
Enjoy your Fitness Friday, everyone! 🩶✨🚴♀️💪

Hey beautiful people! You know those days when just the thought of putting on workout clothes and heading to the gym feels like climbing Mount Everest? Yeah, I have those all the time, especially with eight little ones running around! That's exactly why I developed this lazy girl in-bed somatic workout. It’s my secret weapon for staying active and feeling good when my energy is low, or I just want a chill workout that still offers real benefits. Many of you might be searching for a full body lazy girl workout that you can actually stick to, and trust me, this is it. What exactly is 'somatic' movement, you ask? Simply put, it's about reconnecting with your body through gentle, mindful movements. It’s less about pushing through pain and more about listening to what your body needs. For a beginner woman, or anyone just getting back into fitness like me (hello, postpartum journey!), somatic stretching and strengthening can be incredibly healing. It helps release tension, improve flexibility, and build subtle strength without any high-impact stress. Let's talk about those lying leg raises for beginners. In this routine, we do side-lying leg lifts, which are fantastic for targeting your outer thighs and hips – areas many women want to strengthen. Unlike traditional leg raises that can sometimes strain the lower back if not done correctly, these side lifts are super gentle. Just remember to keep your core engaged and your movements slow and controlled. It’s amazing how much you can feel your muscles working even with such a small, comfortable movement right there in your bed! This is a perfect example of a home workout woman can do without any equipment. This isn't just about movement; it’s about creating a moment of peace for yourself. Think about the Legs Up the Wall Pose – it’s not just a stretch, it’s deeply restorative. And the reclined butterfly stretch is heavenly for opening up the hips after a long day of sitting or chasing kids. These moments of workout stretching are crucial for improving circulation, aiding muscle recovery, and calming your nervous system. I know some of you might be familiar with MadFit stretching routines or other popular 'lazy girl' workouts, and while those are great, my focus here is on genuine connection and self-care. This 60-minute session isn't meant to be intense; it's designed to re-energize you, physically and mentally. It’s proof that you don’t need fancy gyms or complicated routines to make progress. Whether you're a new mom, working from home, or just having a low-energy day, giving your body this kind of gentle attention is a powerful act of self-love. So, roll out of bed (or just stay in it!), give this routine a try, and let me know how you feel!
