Bad day? Don’t spiral!

Bad day? Don’t spiral. 🌀

Being self employed means some days are smooth, and others… not so much. Deals fall through, things get messy, and my first instinct? Eat the feelings and skip the workout.

Lately, instead of letting a rough day take over, I’ve been trying to shift the energy into things that actually help like making a fun meal (protein waffles for dinner just hits different), writing thank-you notes to friends, clients, and colleagues, hopping on my walking pad (because a full workout isn’t always happening), or just calling it an early night instead of scrolling until midnight.

Sometimes, it’s as simple as buying yourself some flowers, getting some sun, and getting back to work 🏡 (after a good hug)…Because one bad moment doesn’t have to take over your whole day.

What’s your go to reset when things aren’t going your way? 🤷‍♀️

It's crucial to develop strategies that not only help in managing stress but also boost your productivity in tough times. For instance, engaging in physical activities, even short ones, can enhance your mood and keep you energized. Cooking a special meal or trying new recipes, such as protein waffles, can also serve as a delightful distraction and a way to indulge your culinary creativity. Additionally, it's essential to nurture your relationships during difficult times. Writing thank-you notes not only expresses gratitude but also reinforces social connections, which can provide emotional support. Don’t forget to take care of yourself—spending time outdoors, getting sunshine, and allowing yourself to enjoy little pleasures like fresh flowers can make a significant difference in your day. Remember, it’s all about finding your unique ways to reset. Some people might enjoy meditation or mindfulness practices, while others find solace in physical activities or hobbies. Identifying your go-to activities can help build resilience and maintain a positive outlook when facing challenges. Lastly, if possible, establishing a routine that incorporates self-care practices can help mitigate the impact of future bad days.
