GRAD PHOTO SHOOT INSPO PT.2 📷
Hey my lemon friends 💛
Here is part 2 of my grad photo shoot inspiration post. Of course these poses and looks can be for others who are graduating from high school, med school or any kind of program (cosmetology, apprenticeship, etc). Photos shoots are the best and are so fun! Sometimes I will plan one just because, I did one a few months ago with my best friend so we can show our kids when we get older.
Have you ever done a photoshoot?
What’s your fav photo out of this post? Lmk in the comments ✨
Have a positive day! 🍀

Hey Lemon8 fam! Building on my last post, I'm back with even more grad photo shoot ideas to make your special day unforgettable. After seeing so many of you looking for unique ways to capture this milestone, I wanted to dive deeper into practical tips and creative concepts that really pop! 1. Personalize Your Props & Location: Don't just bring your cap and gown – think about what truly represents you and your journey. Did you spend countless hours at the library? Take a shot there! Are you a psychology major? Grab some 'PSYCHOLOGY' texts and pose on a campus bench or even the library steps. For my friends in biology or chemistry, imagine shots with textbooks or even a lab coat for a fun, authentic touch! And if your university has iconic landmarks, like a clock tower or a bold 'ASU' or 'Texas A&M' sign, absolutely incorporate them! These instantly scream 'my alma mater' and make for super memorable backdrops. Even a favorite teddy bear from freshman year can add a sweet, nostalgic touch, like the one I saw a friend use at Ohio State! 2. Dynamic Poses Beyond the Classic: While the cap toss is iconic, let's get creative! Think about walking shots with your stole flowing, looking over your shoulder with a confident smile, or even a playful shot covering your eyes with a prop. Sitting confidently on stairs (especially with those academic books!) or leaning against a campus wall can create a sophisticated vibe. Don't be afraid to try candid moments too – laughing with friends or adjusting your cap can capture genuine joy. I always tell my friends to think of a few 'action' shots, not just static poses. 3. Outfit Changes & Styling: Your cap and gown are a must, but consider a second outfit that showcases your personal style. A chic dress, a smart blazer with jeans, or even a fun, pleated skirt with your university sweatshirt (hello, Texas State vibes!) can add variety. Make sure your outfits are comfortable and allow for movement. And for those completing programs like cosmetology, why not incorporate elements of your craft? Maybe a beauty tool or a styled look you're proud of! 4. Timing & Lighting are Key: The 'golden hour' (shortly after sunrise or before sunset) provides the most flattering light for outdoor shoots. If you're shooting indoors or on a cloudy day, look for bright, even lighting. Always discuss timing with your photographer. A friend of mine did her shoot in autumn, and the vibrant trees made for a stunning natural backdrop, just like some of the beautiful outdoor shots I've seen! 5. Bring a Hype Squad: Seriously, bring a friend or two! They can help with props, make you laugh for those candid shots, and even grab some behind-the-scenes content. Their energy can really make a difference in how comfortable and confident you feel in front of the camera. Remember, this is your celebration – make it fun, unique, and truly *you*! What creative ideas are you planning for your grad shoot?
