Puerto Rico recommendations ? 🏖️
Hi friends !!
I’ll be taking a summer vacay to San Juan, PR this summer and me and my group of friends who are going need some tips and insight. Have any of you traveled to PR?
If so, let me know in the comments the best restaurants or fun things to do while down there. Im sure it will be helpful for some other lemon friends as well. I’m so excited, I’m treating this as my graduation gift to myself 🫶🏽
HAVE A POSITIVE DAY ! :)
Hey Lemon8 friends! I saw your post about planning that amazing graduation trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and I just had to share some of my favorite tips to make it truly unforgettable! It's such a fantastic choice for a summer getaway, and I've been lucky enough to explore the island quite a bit myself. First off, you absolutely have to immerse yourselves in Old San Juan. Walking those charming, narrow cobblestone streets, surrounded by incredibly colorful buildings with their iconic balconies, feels like stepping back in time. Don't miss exploring the historic forts – Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo de San Cristobal. They offer breathtaking ocean views and a real sense of history. You can easily spend a full day just wandering, popping into unique local shops, and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. The pictures you'll get there are just stunning! For foodies, San Juan is a paradise. You've got to try the mofongo (plantain-based dish), lechón (roast pork), and fresh seafood. For a truly local experience, seek out a 'cocina criolla' restaurant. And if you're looking for some fun things to do in the evening, the nightlife in areas like La Placita de Santurce is fantastic – imagine dancing the night away in a lively tropical setting! And speaking of drinks, a visit to the Bacardi Distillery (Casa Bacardi) is a super fun tour where you can learn about rum-making and enjoy some delicious cocktails. But Puerto Rico is so much more than just San Juan! If you're looking for more adventure, a trip to El Yunque National Forest is a must. It's the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, and you can hike to beautiful waterfalls and enjoy lush greenery. For a truly magical experience, try a tour to one of the island's bioluminescent bays, like Laguna Grande in Fajardo or Mosquito Bay in Vieques. Kayaking through glowing waters at night is something you'll never forget. And for beach lovers? You're in for a treat! While San Juan has great city beaches, consider a day trip to Luquillo Beach on the east coast, known for its calm waters and palm-lined shores. For the ultimate postcard-perfect beach, if you have time, take a ferry or flight to Culebra island for Flamenco Beach – it regularly ranks among the world's best. If you're feeling fancy, a catamaran tour from Fajardo can take you to smaller islands like Icacos or Palomino for incredible snorkeling and sunbathing in crystal-clear turquoise waters. Just remember to embrace the local culture, try speaking a little Spanish (even just "hola" and "gracias" goes a long way!), and stay hydrated in the tropical heat. I'm so excited for you and your friends – it's going to be an incredible graduation celebration! Enjoy every moment!
