What the heck did I just read?? 😳

This book had me turning pages faster than I could read. It sucked me in within the first chapter and with someone who has ADHD, that is very difficult to do. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and did not expect that plot twist at the end! This is not a book I would normally read, but it was suggested to me by a regular of mine at the bar I work at and ohmygosh I am so glad I read it!!

I am highly suggesting, if you need a change in pace on your reading journey, this book was amazing!

... Read moreAs someone who’s struggled with focusing on books due to ADHD, finding "The Silent Patient" was a game-changer in my reading journey. The way the story pulls you in from the very first chapter helped me stay engrossed without feeling overwhelmed or distracted. Alex Michaelides crafts a narrative that’s both accessible and thrilling, which is not always easy to find in psychological thrillers. One of the most memorable aspects is how the mystery unfolds gradually, building suspense while exploring deep emotional layers and complex characters. The unexpected plot twist towards the end completely caught me off guard, making the entire experience feel fresh and exciting. It's a rarity for me to be so invested in a book outside my usual preferences, but this one truly broke that pattern. Additionally, the book’s setting and the silent protagonist add a unique, almost eerie vibe that keeps you guessing. It’s a remarkable pick if you want a story that challenges your perceptions and keeps you on edge without the typical thriller clichés. I also found joining discussions like those in book clubs or online forums such as #thesilentpatient and #lemon8bookclub helped deepen my understanding and enjoyment of the novel. For anyone needing a compelling page-turner that combines psychological depth with gripping suspense, I highly recommend giving this book a chance. It’s perfect for readers looking to switch up their usual genres and dive into something that not only entertains but also engages your mind in a thoughtful way.
