I missed these kinds of books 😂 I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy and super tame books so I’m glad this book was suggested to me. It was HOT and spicy, but I feel like it was predictable.
I loved the main characters and how it shows them growing throughout the book and seeing that the FMC is new to that kind of lifestyle and learns to embrace it, I just love to see it!
This book does have a bunch of trigger warnings for anyone wanting to read this. I use the trigger warning page as a menu and honestly, to me at least, there was only 1 pretty rough scene that I was not expecting trigger warning wise, but was written extremely well. I’d be lying if I said I’m not asking my boyfriend to reenact it next time I see him 😂
I will say, over all, great book. I read this in 2 days and stayed up WAY past my bedtime to finish it. BUT it was super predictable towards the end.
If you’re someone who enjoys erotic romance novels with depth and character development, Kingdom by W.S. Greer offers a compelling blend of spice and emotional growth. What sets this book apart is how it introduces readers to a female main character (FMC) who is new to a more adventurous lifestyle and learns to embrace it gradually, adding realism and relatability. One thing I appreciated while reading was the inclusion of a detailed trigger warning page. This feature is invaluable for readers with sensitivities and acts almost like a menu, guiding you through the content landscape so you can decide what you’re comfortable exploring. Although the book contained many warnings, only one scene stood out as particularly intense, and it was skillfully written with emotional nuance rather than shock value. As a result, the narrative feels more authentic and respectful. In terms of pacing, Kingdom is a quick read — I found myself staying up late, absorbed in the story. That said, if you prefer unpredictable plot twists, the ending might feel a bit expected. However, this predictability doesn’t detract from the enjoyable journey of character development and romantic tension. For readers active on platforms like BookTok or those who follow popular erotic reads, this book fits right into trending conversations, especially with hashtags like #kingdom, #wsgreer, and #eroticreads helping to connect communities eager for similar stories. In my personal experience, books like this are a refreshing break from the usual fantasy or tame romances, offering an escape filled with heat and heartfelt growth alike. If you want a balance between steamy content and a story about learning and acceptance, Kingdom is worth your time.
