cancer survivor 🎗
my scars tell a story
they remind me of when
life tried to break me, but failed.
here's to being 26 years cancer free!
Living with the visible reminders of cancer treatment, like scars, can feel deeply personal and empowering. These marks tell stories of battles fought and won, reminding survivors daily of their strength and resilience. Over the years, I have found that embracing these scars allows me to reclaim my body and my story rather than see them as flaws. They serve as constant motivation to live fully and appreciate every moment. Being 26 years cancer free is a milestone that deserves to be celebrated. Survivorship comes with its own challenges, including emotional healing and adapting to a new normal. Connecting with communities, whether online or in person, such as Lyme Warrior groups or cancer survivor forums, has been invaluable. Sharing experiences helps to reduce feelings of isolation and offers encouragement and practical advice. Strength is not just physical but mental and emotional. Through my journey, I learned the importance of self-care, maintaining a positive mindset, and surrounding myself with supportive people. Activities like mindfulness meditation, gentle exercise, and engaging in hobbies helped me rebuild my well-being. If you or someone you know is facing cancer, remember that scars—both visible and invisible—are badges of survival. Each survivor’s story is unique and powerful. Celebrate every victory, no matter how small, and never underestimate your inner warrior. Life may try to break you, but with perseverance and support, it can only make you stronger.

congratulations 🙏
