Haven’t worn these skates in years😭
It's amazing how quickly time flies and how certain hobbies can slip away from our daily lives. After years of not putting on my skates, I recently decided to lace them up again, and the experience was both thrilling and a little nerve-wracking. When you haven't skated in such a long time, your body remembers the balance and movements, but you still have that initial awkwardness and self-doubt. One thing I realized is the importance of starting slow. I didn’t rush into doing tricks or skating fast; instead, I found a quiet spot and just took it easy, focusing on regaining my confidence and muscle memory. The feeling of rolling again brought back a wave of nostalgia and happiness. The skates might feel stiff or worn out after years without use, so making sure they're still in good condition—checking the wheels and brakes—is essential. The phrase from my photo, "Definitely about to bust my," perfectly captures that mix of excitement and the challenge ahead! There's a bit of fear of falling or losing balance, but that also adds to the thrill and eventually to the joy once you regain fluid movements. For anyone looking to get back into roller skating after a break, my advice is to be patient with yourself and enjoy every small progress. Skating is not just exercise; it's a beautiful way to connect with yourself and the environment around you. I'm excited to continue this journey and see where my skates take me next!
