BE BOLD! BE BRAVE!
Do not allow fear to hold you back!! Do the dang thing even if you do it scared and messy!
You know that feeling, right? That knot in your stomach, the voice in your head whispering 'don't do it,' 'you'll fail,' 'it's too risky.' I've been there countless times. For so long, I let FEAR dictate my choices, holding me back from so many opportunities, both big and small. It wasn't until I truly embraced the idea of 'doing it scared and messy' that things started to shift for me. What does 'doing it scared' actually mean? It doesn't mean fear magically disappears. Oh no, that feeling is still very much present. It means acknowledging the fear, feeling it, and still taking that step forward, even if your hands are shaking and your voice cracks. It means not waiting for perfection, because let's be honest, perfection is often just another excuse fear uses to HOLD YOU BACK! I remember the first time I decided to try something completely new – public speaking. My heart was pounding, my palms were sweaty, and every fiber of my being screamed 'run!' But I had promised myself I wouldn't let fear win this time. I walked up to that podium, took a deep breath, and started speaking. Was it perfect? Absolutely not! I stumbled over words, my notes got mixed up, and I probably looked terrified. But I did it. And the sense of accomplishment afterwards was incredible. That 'messy' attempt taught me more than any perfectly rehearsed speech ever could have. So, if you're struggling with fear, here are a few things that have genuinely helped me, and maybe I CAN HELP YOU too: Acknowledge and Name Your Fear: Don't try to suppress it. What exactly are you afraid of? Failure? Judgment? The unknown? Giving it a name makes it less abstract and more manageable. Start Small: You don't have to conquer your biggest fear all at once. Break it down into tiny, manageable steps. Want to start a business? Maybe the first step is just researching market trends, not launching a full product. Focus on the 'Why': Why do you want to do this thing that scares you? What's the bigger goal or value behind it? Holding onto that 'why' can be a powerful motivator when fear tries to pull you back. Embrace Imperfection: This is crucial. 'Doing it messy' means accepting that your first attempt, or even your fifth, won't be flawless. It's about learning and iterating. Progress, not perfection, is the goal. Build a Support System: Talk to friends, family, or mentors who believe in you. Sometimes, just having someone say, 'You can do this!' makes a huge difference. Celebrate Small Wins: Every step you take, no matter how tiny, is a victory against fear. Acknowledge these wins to build momentum and confidence. Remember, being bold and brave isn't about being fearless; it's about acting despite fear. It's about recognizing that growth happens outside your comfort zone. Don't let anything HOLD YOU BACK from reaching your full potential. You've got this!
