Misery loves company.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Misery loves company.” When people are carrying unresolved pain, frustration, or bitterness, it often spills onto those around them. Some people wake up already burdened, and without realizing it, they project that heaviness outward—creating chaos, tension, or negativity wherever they go.
That’s why awareness is so important. Scripture reminds us to guard our hearts, because everything we do flows from it. When you’re unaware, negative energy can quietly attach itself to you, affecting your mood, your thoughts, and even your spirit. But when you’re aware, you’re able to discern what is yours to carry—and what is not.
Awareness gives you the wisdom to set healthy boundaries. Boundaries aren’t unloving; they’re protective. They allow you to remain compassionate without absorbing what was never meant for you. You can pray for people, love them from a distance, and still protect your peace.
Starting your day by setting intentions rooted in faith makes all the difference. When you invite God into your day—asking Him to order your steps, guard your mind, and cover your spirit—you’re better equipped when negative thoughts or emotions try to intrude. Instead of reacting, you respond with grace, discernment, and calm.
