My Personal Opinion on Wicked Pt. 1

After soaking in the magic of Wicked Pt. 1 not once, but twice, I can't stop thinking about how perfectly this film captured the essence of Oz. Beyond the incredible performances by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, which truly carried the story with their powerful vocals (🎶 Goodness knows 🎶), the visual spectacle was just breathtaking. Stepping into the Land of Oz felt like a dream. The costumes alone deserve their own spotlight! Glinda, with her sparkling crown and those iconic voluminous pink gowns, looked absolutely radiant, especially when she was floating in her shimmering pink bubble. And Elphaba, with her striking green skin and those memorable round glasses, was just as captivating. The film does an amazing job of bringing these characters to life, making every scene a feast for the eyes. The vibrant city, perched on a hill surrounded by colorful fields, and even the serene shots of a traditional sailboat navigating a calm river under a cloudy sky, all contributed to building such an immersive world. It's clear a lot of love went into adapting the fantastical setting we know from the stage. Speaking of the stage, for those of us who adore the Broadway show, this movie adaptation is a real treat. It honors the spirit of the musical while expanding the narrative in ways only cinema can. It makes you appreciate the journey these characters embark on even more deeply.
