VIRAL CT PILLOW TALK | Lipstick help ASAP
Please keep an open mind before reading below
CT PILLOW TALK is my favorite of all time. My go to always is
Iconic nude lipliner
Pillow talk gloss
BUT I cannot wear the lipstick…
PS not looking for opinions just want to know if this has happen to anyone and if so what’s your solution?
This has never happened to me before but anytime I wear the lipstick I get a sore on my lips. I never get any sort of sores ever. Not prone to fever blisters or stress blisters on my lips. My lips are NOT sensitive.
I even bought another one (a mini) to see if maybe that one lipstick was defected. Nope boom same thing happen.
Weirdly though I can wear the pillow talk gloss just fine as well as the lip liner. 🤷🏻♀️
Yes I know I can buy similar colors in other brands but this my holy grail treat to myself once a year. I’ll spend the money on these during the holiday sales. I don’t hunt for a look alike because I just don’t think there is. (More because of the shade of lip naturally this just works best)
So long story LONG has anyone else experienced this.

Wow, this is such a unique problem, but I've actually heard of similar lipstick sensitivities before! It's so frustrating when you love a shade but your lips just won't cooperate. Since you mentioned the lip liner and gloss are fine, it really points to specific ingredients in the lipstick formula itself. It's like your lips are signaling, 'I need advice!' even if your usual 'holy grail' products are fine. Often, traditional lipsticks contain different waxes, oils, and pigments compared to glosses or liners. Some common culprits for lip irritation or allergic contact dermatitis can be fragrances, certain dyes (like Red 21 or Red 36), preservatives (like parabens), or even lanolin. Sometimes, it's an ingredient like carmine, which is a common red pigment derived from insects, that can cause reactions in sensitive individuals. It's tricky because your lips aren't normally sensitive, which makes it even more baffling! The fact that you even bought a second one, thinking the first might be defective, shows how dedicated you are to this shade. Have you ever tried doing a patch test? You could try applying a tiny bit of the lipstick to a less sensitive area of skin, like behind your ear or on your inner arm, for a day to see if any reaction occurs there. It's not always foolproof for lips, but it might offer some clues. Some people also try applying a small amount to the corner of their mouth or just inside the wrist. If you see any redness, itching, or swelling, it's a strong indicator of an allergic reaction. This kind of detective work can be really helpful in narrowing down the problematic component. I know you said you don't hunt for dupes because of the unique shade, but sometimes looking for 'clean beauty' or 'fragrance-free' lipstick brands might help. These brands often omit common irritants. Some users have found success with brands like Ilia, Merit, or Tower 28, which focus on minimal ingredients. You might find a similar 'your lips but better' nude shade without the problematic ingredient. Another strategy is to look for mineral-based lipsticks, as they often contain fewer potential irritants. It might take some trial and error, but perhaps there's a gem out there waiting for you. Also, ensuring your lips are super hydrated and prepped before lipstick application can sometimes help, though it sounds like yours is more of a reaction to an ingredient. Maybe try a thick, hypoallergenic lip balm underneath for a few days before trying the lipstick again, just to create a barrier. Products with ceramides or hyaluronic acid can really boost lip health. Even if it doesn't solve the core issue, healthy lips are less prone to general irritation. If the sores persist and are really bothering you, a visit to a dermatologist could be incredibly helpful. They can perform specific allergy tests to pinpoint exactly what ingredient is causing the reaction. They might also be able to recommend medical-grade solutions or specialized lip products. It's a shame because it truly is a holy grail shade for many, especially paired with the liner and gloss. It's commendable that you're seeking advice and not just giving up on finding a solution. I hope you find a way to enjoy that perfect Pillow Talk look without any discomfort!
