Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

Pretty Place, located in Cleveland South Carolina, is absolutely breathtaking. The emotions my heart felt when I stepped into the chapel and saw the view are emotions I will not soon forget. The presents of God is unmatched. Please if you are anywhere in the area MAKE THE TRIP! It is 100% worth it. So worth it that my step mom and I drove 8 hours there and 8 hours back home JUST to visit it. We stayed in South Carolina for a total of 2 hours😂 Fastest 20 hour vacation of my life!

... Read moreOh my goodness, where do I even begin to describe the magic of Pretty Place Chapel? My recent visit to Fred W. Symmes Chapel in Cleveland, South Carolina, was truly a journey for the soul, and I'm still reliving those incredible moments. You know, I drove 8 hours each way just to experience it for a couple of hours, and honestly, I'd do it again in a heartbeat! It wasn't just a destination; it was an experience that left an indelible mark on my heart. Stepping into the chapel, the first thing that strikes you is the sheer majesty of the view. It’s an open-air sanctuary, with the most magnificent large wooden cross standing tall on a stone base, perfectly framed against an expansive backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The sight immediately brought to mind the verse, and I could clearly see the sign 'I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES TO THE HILLS... Psalm 121:1' as it truly captured the essence of the place. The way the rows of pews are set up, all facing that incredible vista, makes you feel instantly connected to something greater. Whether the sky is cloudy and dramatic or crystal clear, the mountain landscape stretches out endlessly, inviting contemplation. If you’re thinking about visiting, let me share a few tips! This isn't just a place for an Instagram shot; it's a place for reflection and peace. Many people come for sunrise or pretty place chapel sunset because the colors painting the sky over the mountains are absolutely unreal – a photographer's dream! The light changes so beautifully throughout the day, offering endless opportunities for breathtaking pretty place chapel photos. I recommend checking the Camp Greenville website before you go, as sometimes they have events that might affect visitor access, though generally it's open to the public. It’s not about pretty place chapel tickets as much as it is about planning your visit around their schedule to ensure a serene experience. Beyond the chapel itself, the whole area around Cleveland, SC, offers a charming escape. While my trip was a quick one, I know there are plenty of things to do near Pretty Place Chapel for those who can stay longer, like hiking trails within the mountains or exploring quaint small towns. It’s a wonderful spot if you're looking for a peaceful weekend activity or a spiritual retreat. Just make sure you bring your best camera – and maybe some tissues, because the emotional impact is real! The air is crisp, the views are unparalleled, and there's a profound sense of calm that settles over you. Trust me, make the trip; you won't regret it.
